The Marshall TSL 60 Amp Head is the latest addition to the acclaimed JCM2000 series, and it's a real smoker! It deals up 60W and an all-tube signal path (4 ECC83s in the preamp, 2 EL34 power tubes). It also features footswitchable spring reverb with separate controls (for clean and crunch/lead). Channel controls are also dual; one set for clean (gain, bass, mid, treble) and another set for crunch/lead (gain, volume, bass, mid, treble, and a Tone Shift switch to scoop mids). Other controls include a master volume, master presence, and a deep switch providing a tightly focused bass boost that fattens the sound dramatically. There's also a mix control on the back panel effects loop.

I must say this head, is possibly one of Jim Marshalls best yet. With 3 Channels to work with and independant volumes all controlled by a master and dual reverb!! This Amp screams. The 60 watt version is more usuer friendly than the sister model TSL 100. Much easier to get a warm sound, with less crank !
I found this head for 400 hundred bucks on the floor of guitar center and I went crazy. First of all there is no tone like a marshall and seriously I saved 900 dollars (aside from the list price) I do have a few minor complaints however. This amp is not meant to play heavy stuff, although when paired wth a mode four cab and a les paul equipped with EMG's it does rip. But any other set up and you hardly get what I would call heavy distortion. The clean channel is just ok for a tube head and the delay when switching between the clean and overdrive gets a bit annoying. This amp is great when paired correctly, and like I said, there is no tone like a marshall. If you can find it for cheap or at a used price, it is worth it, I promise.
