I traded a Fender Princeton65 yesterday, along with some cash,to get this little tone beast. The only thing that stopped me from giving it a 5 was that the distortion can get a liitle muddy.I read where people were saying that the fan was loud.Well guess what?I couldn,t hear it at all.The clean tone on this amp is simply the best I,ve ever heard, and the effects are pretty good also.As far as the volume goes, for 50 watts, this amp is LOUD!I,ll defnately be using this with my band and absolutely under no circumstances, will I part with this item.I also wanted to mention that the closed back gives this amp a very warm sound to it.I,m sticking with Marshall and will not look back.

I have had this amp for about 3 years and it is a neat little thing. It has a well built effects channel and a very warm clean sound. However the distorted channel is a different story. If you play Zeppelin style rock or blues the tone will definitely suit you well. If your looking for a bone crunching tone, look elsewhere. Even if you fiddle with the knobs, the tone is weak and wimpy. You can run some pedals in front of it sure, but for all that hassle your better off looking at Line 6's product line. In all, this is a great jam/practice amp for the right player who likes a thinner sound. Again if your picky about your distorted tone, go for the Line 6's.

Great amp for a great price

By MetalGuitarist14

Comments about Marshall MG50DFX Combo Amp:

This is the only amp that I use. It sounds amazing with pretty much any guitar, and it is loud enough to play small to medium-sized shows. For the price, you probably will not find anything this good.

a sick amp

By gibson16

Comments about Marshall MG50DFX Combo Amp:

I use this Marshall during my bands practices or when I'm just rocking out at home. Its a great amp. You can turn it up above 75% and it still will have a great sound. The only thing with this amp is sometimes the fan in the back breaks. It happened to me twice and its not that big of deal and it doesnt effect the sound. The only thing is the fan buzzes for like a minute but it stops after that. Basically, this amp is awsome. It has great effects, great sound, and a lot of power. It's great for small shows and practices.

Amazing Amp For Small Gigs and PracticeTon

By Chili Corder

from Danville, CA

Comments about Marshall MG50DFX Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for a year now and it really expands musical capabilities. With it's five built in effects, you don't even need a pedal board. They are so similar to actual pedals that they aren't needed on your rig. This amp is great for garage bands and small gigs, but for larger shows make this can't deliver, so think about getting a bigger marshall half stack. Both the clean and overdrive settings are fantastic for all genres of music from jazz to metal. It packs a major punch for its size. This is a great amp for intermediate players playing small gigs. This is a great buy for all players that doesn't break the bank.

lovin this amp

Comments about Marshall MG50DFX Combo Amp:

I just got this amp and let me tell you, if you want a clean, sharp sounding amp, this is the one to get. You can play almost anything from classic rock to modern rock. It is also a great blues amp. It is also great for those songs that switch back and forth from clean to distorted channels because the foot pedal that comes with it works so nicely. But if you ever want an amp that will be great for small gigs and that is still at a good price this is the one to get.

Very Good Amp

By Rus

from Montreal, Canada

Comments about Marshall MG50DFX Combo Amp:

I've had this Marshall amp for about a year and im very, very satisfied with it! It's very versatile in terms of the tone you can get from it and the styles of music you can play with it. The destortion, in my opinion, is unbeatable by any non-marshall amps. Even by setting the gain nob to a minimum, you can get a great blues/rock sound, and even if you crank it all the way, it won't become extremely messy. It's surprisingly loud for a 50 watt. There are a couple of downsides to it though...because it's a solid state amp, it's unbelievably heavy for it's size! so if you want an amp that you can easily cary around, you might reconsider this one because it's very hard to move around without using a car.

try it and you'll buy it

Comments about Marshall MG50DFX Combo Amp:

I am the envy of my guitar playing comrades. They all wanna hook up to my 50 watt monster! NOT!!! I rewarded myself this amp for christmas. You will not get a sweeter amp for the price. Great for practice and enough punch for small gigs. Clean or dirty, any way you like it. This amp does it all. I spent weeks researching and trying out amps at my local guitar center store and the mg 50 dfx outperformed everything in its price range.

Comments about Marshall MG50DFX Combo Amp:

This amp is really amazing. You can get a great jimi hendrix sound by mixing the reverb and the delay effect. Plus this amp is LOUD. But still delivers great tones at low volumes. This is the cleanest sound you will ever get and the overdrive is in a totally different league than other amps. Overall it's great if you can afford it...
