The 2x12 Marshall MG102FX is a 100W combo amp that has 4 programmable channels, awesome analog tone, adjustable FX, and more amazing features. Now at your disposal is a separate digital Delay, meaning that a total of 3 custom-voiced FX can be combined at onceâReverb, Modulation (Chorus/Phaser/Flanger), and Delayâcreating near-endless FX possibilities. What's more, the Reverb and Delay FX decay naturally when switching between channels for a truly fluid performance. If you want to add extra pedals and/or rack effects, you can make use of the amp's switchable External FX. Set in series and at instrument level, this send and return system is suitable for both guitar and professional units alike.
The MG102FX has power-amp damping circuitry that lets you switch effortlessly between the feel of a classic power amp with the emphasis on mids, and that of boosted speaker resonance in both bass and treble frequency ranges, magnifying the response and projection of your tone. Everything is switchable via the front panel and/or the included programmable MG Footcontroller, affording you complete control. You'll also find that the headphone jack on this top-tier Marshall MG doubles as a very handy line out. It's ideal for sending your jaw-dropping solos to any external unit you wishâa computer, digital recorder, or PA system, for example. As when used with headphones, the amp's speaker is muted, allowing silent recording. Output can then be directly monitored from the external equipment being used.

i play metal mainly and to tell you the truth the distortion isn't crazy awesome but you have the right pickups and the gain setting is just for fine tuneing. i love the versatility of the tones and the various effects it has. the best solid state for it's price
I played this amp at a music store couple times. and One day i decided to test it to the full capacity. All the Employees got together with me and we started cranking that thing up. Other custumers were blown away by how loud it got, and the tone stayed amazing all the way to the sub- max (didnt want to blow out the windows or eardrums) loved it. played some of the best known songs and some pretty sick solos with this amp and i was pleased. very pleased.
I had the smaller versnio of this amp for a while, then traded it. then i tried this amp out at a shop. way too loud with no middle ground anywhere.the distortion sounded horrible, the clean was okay, but still that alone doesn't justify the high price. you're basically buying a crate with a marshall paint job. if you are shopping for a 100w solid state combo, i suggest going to carvin's website and check out the sx200 or sx300 fantastic american made amps for half the price of the korean or chinese marshalls. good luck finding your sound and God Bless. Don't stop Rocking!!!
I was very excited to be able to buy a Marshall. It sounded great in the store- at low volumes. It sounded great at home- a low volumes. But, when I tried to turn it up, the tone went flop. I think this may have been the worst sounding amplifier I have ever owned. I was completely disappointed. I had it for two days and had to make a two hour drive back to the store to return it. This amp is a waste of money, unless you are intent on buying pedals to overcome its horrible sound.
It works like I espected and I have no problems with feed back like the other post said. This amp works fine for the price I get good sound from it you can go to Marshalls site and see a demo on it and they give you some good pointers. It works good on its own and pedals make it all that much better.. Not the best but it works great for the price.
I wasnt expecting much after all the reveiws I read on the MGs but for the price it is ok I did notice the effects are weak but pedals help alot it will work while I save up for something killer one day.
After working this amp out hard for a week I must say it is a good amp for the price. I did not find to many problems, except that the effects on the amp are kind of weak. They are okay but effects pedals would probably increase the overall usefulness of the amp
Bought this amp and returned it within 3 days. Feedback tone has no characteristics. You can't even turn this amp up without hearing a loud feedback screech. Amp sounds good at low volume but I have no use for a 100 watt amp that I'm not able to crank up. Very generic sounding for Marshall due to new digital circuitry I think. Old MG series sounds way better. If your planning on buying this amp, don't do it unless you don't care about having a good sound. Save up more money and buy a used Marshall tube head like JCM 900, 800, DSL, or TSL. I don't think this is even worth the money but please note this is all just my opinion. I bought the 10 watt and it sounds the best for the new MG series amps. Anyway do what you want and be your own judge of what sounds good.
