I purchased the Marshall Micro Stack a few months ago because i wanted a bigger amp, as all i had was a vintage polytone mini brute II and a Roland Micro Cube. On clean, this thing sounds great for vintage 50s style rockabilly. The distortion is incredible for Ramones-y punk and SRV style blues. I knew this amp was 15 watts, and put it in my room, but in a couple of days my parents told me to put it in our garage because it was too loud!! This amp is wonderful for practice and i will be using it to play a 45 minute set at a club 2 weeks from now.

I've had this amp for a few months now, and I'm very disappointed. First, it picks up radio stations on EVERY channel it has. I tried everything there is to try to make it work better, I've bought about 6 different wires, and they all work great on my other amps. The sounds aren't that great either. I would either buy a real marshall, not the "mg" line. If Interference doesn't bother you, get it, I'm guessing mine was just defected. But also, itۡs not loud enough

Great Amp

By Joe Sheard

from Cincinnati OH

I bought this amp about 2 years ago, to replace my small 10" practice amp. As of now it has been a great success. This amp is very easy to transport, when practicing at my friends houses, but is also extremely powerful, and fills a small to medium sized room. The built in effects on the amp are OK, but I just use my pedals to add to it. I have not needed to enhance the clean sound because it is a great one like on all Marshal amps I have used. Overall I have had a lot of fun with this amp so far, and I will in the near future.

Awesome stack for the price

By Andrea Thomas

from CT

I got this stack about a month ago. Its a pretty good size. its about as tall as a Les Paul. nothing crazy but good enough for a small gig. i was a little worried when i ordered it because i heard good things and bad things about it. Honestly it could be one way or another for some people. This amp has AMAZING cleans. you could switch on your bridge humbucker and hit a E power chord and it wouldnt distort at all. Distortion is ok. nothing thats going to blow you away like the cleans but its decent. if you play heavier stuff your going to want to run a pedal through it. Alot of people say its weak too...its not. i have yet to try it fully maxed out but at at 5 it will vibrate the walls in a mid sized room. The effects are so so. The chorus sounds like it also has tremolo in it and the other effects arnt that impressive either. the reverb doesn't change the area of it just the presents. So if you have it on 10 it will sound like your playing in a stadium with it being very noticeable, on 2 it will still sound like your in a stadium just less noticeable. Either way though the reverb is a nice touch. so my advice, know what your buying before you buy this amp. if your looking for something to play crazy heavy metal right out of the box go with a peavey or a line 6. if your looking for beautiful cleans and rock type distortions go with this. you can always upgrade the head.

Great Amp for a hobbyist.

By Paul Candia

from Casa Grande, AZ

I traded in some really old Crate combo amps for this and got the silver one. I am not going to come of like a salty guitar vet that knows it all so I here it goes. Reason for buying this brand? Marshall says it all, plus I always wanted one so this this the coolest amp to start off with. I bought it with the MG footcontroller as well and it gives you the vesatality to create your own sounds and to switch in between the 4 channels or program your own tones. What I like about it is that is simple to use and plus it has the built in effects such as Chorus, Phaser, Flanger, Delay and Reverb. Like the title says, I am a hobbyist and this amp keeps it simple. I don't have any other effects plugged in, just the guitar. I was originally looking for the Dave Mustaine Megastack and couldn't find one. The megastack manual that you can download from Marshall has the settings that Dave uses, so I used those settings on my amp and it sounds great. So for the purpose of it being my hobby to play guitar and have fun with it, this amplifier is good to go. It gives you the clean and distorted sounds and provides many hours of musical enjoyment.

IT IS 95cm HIGH. It has 15 watts of power it is not micro at all. It has an amazing 4 channels and has this knobs from left to right: GAin bass middle treble reverb(pretty amazing too) volume fx master. If you are looking for a practice amp this is perfect for you you can never go bad with a marshall

Must HaveI've had mine for abou

By Daniel Anderson

from Bakersfield, CA

I have had mine for about 2 years now and it works just as when I bought it. It is pretty loud for its size and is just as loud as a practice amp when you just want to practice. If you're a simple starter or even a pro, you should get this.

just an expensive practice amp

By joe

from nj

If you are looking for an amp louder than 15 watts don't get this!!! You could never be heard over a drummer or bass player,it sounds great if you are looking for an expensive 15 watt amp but its very quite, don't waste your money on this. You never know when your going to need more volume, besides, you can always make an amp lower not louder.

Marshall Stack

By Joe

from Goleta, CA

This amp is amazing! It's small enough to fit in my room and loud enough for shows. The tone is awesome. The amp has a great overdrive but still cleans up really nicely. I don't use the effects but they're nice to have. The perfect setup, in my opinion, would be an Eric Clapton Stratocaster or American into a CryBaby, then into a TS-9 as a booster, then into a Leslie pedal, then out to the amp. i just wish it came with the MG Foot controller. if you want a versatile amps that sound like a tube amp, GET THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
