Everyone is giving this amp poor reveiws. I went to a local music store and tried it out myself. I wanted something real. Real as in real tone, not that fake 1000 different preset slop that all these wannabe inexperienced metalheads are playing. This amp is warm, clear, real tone that an amp should have. Not that digital mumbo jumbo fake junk. If you think this amp is junk then you might need to ask someone who knows what good tone is to explain or just clear you mind of thinking you need the highest gain most annoying guitar sound that even the sound guys have the hardest trouble trying to figure out what that horrible noise is coming from your amp during sound check. This amp is good. Just good. Not bad but not the greatest either. Just clearing this up.

I purchased this amplifier looking to replace and exceed my old MG250DFX which had a phenomenal sound for a solid state amplifier. ON clean its nothing to write home about and is almost good, the distortion is also very cheesy. The DFX didn't work on mine, the chorus sounded cheap and despite the knob to change the level of chorus it was pretty on or off and no in between, not to mention it would often get stuck on and wouldn't turn off. OVer all very dis satisfied, the cheap speaker sounded horrible with my pedals. I would not recommend this amplifier.

Overall a nice amp, especially with the 4 button footswitch... only drawback is no direct out to go direct into mixer.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG50CFX 50W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I need a good small amp for home. This was a good choice. Although I do wish it had the 4 button foot controller, which I will get as soon as they are available. This amp will be better with assignable foot control. The 50 watts is plenty loud for small gigs and garage practice.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG50CFX 50W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

By utilizing the Guitar Center demonstration video of the product while concurrently playing the guitar to address the features functionality and responses, I was amazed at the sound quality, versatility, and power of the amp.

I'm 100% satisfied with this product. Also, I was fortunate in that I purchased the product online from the Guitar Center at a sale price and, through an additional promotion, I received an additional 15% discount.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG50CFX 50W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I had this amp for 1 day and returned it.
Please believe me that this solid state marshall amp has one of the worst sound quality i've ever heard. Especially the OD2 channel. The gain sounds very artificial. Palm muting causes a garbled and disgusting sound. There are too many useless effects, and controls are very user-UNfriendly.
Don't waste your money on this amp please. I returned it and got a DSL40c tube amp. It's a WORLD of a difference!

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG50CFX 50W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

So I picked up this amp new but scratch and dent for a great deal. Two modifications I had to make. 1st was to change out the cheesy Chinese speaker with a Celestion seventy 80 I had and 2nd, was to half open up the back of the cabinet. Now this little gem has a nice full rounded sound and most certainly fills the room. For the price you can not really go wrong. As other reviewers have said, it seems to work best with pedals. I always run a clean amp and let my pedal board bring life. I imagine the the on board effects and overdrive is fine but its not what I use. Good amp.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG50CFX 50W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

So here goes...what are all these negative reviews going on about? OK - if you have a bare amp and expect versatility out of the few knobs and effects on the front, you have another thing coming. Period. This amp DOES require some pedals to go with it, I will admit, but come on...for the price it's a good deal. I have three guitars hooked to it via an ABC switch...an Ibanez Prestige RG652, an ESP LTD350MH-NT and a Mike Mushok PRS Baritone. All sound great through it. It does take a little tweaking though but in the end it's worth it.

There is the option to run your pedal board through a separate External FX loop on the back of the amp which I take full advantage of. I have it running to a Dunlop Wah, a Korg PitchBlack Polyphonic Tuner, an Xotic SP Compressor, a Boss MT-2 Distortion, a Boss GE-7 Equalizer and a Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor. I use Black Oval and Mogami interconnects on the pedals as well as Monster cables going from output to amp and amp to Wah. I have a Mogami cable running from ABC switch to the amp input as well. Reviews that complain of noise either have the amp too close to a computer or on a noisy circuit. Or their pedals (or guitars) are wired with cheap cables. I don't have any noise problems even running it through 6 pedals.

One of the best features is the speaker output can be disconnected and a guitar cable hooked up to a computer sound card via a 1/4" to 3.55 mm adapter. The volume knobs control the input recording sound on Presonus Studio One Professional. I have made incredible recordings just in the few weeks I have owned the amp.

Anyway, I am happy and think it's a decent amp at a decent price.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG50CFX 50W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I own a 1970 marshall stack. But i wanted somthing i could throw in the back of a NYC cab. This new mg50CFX combo amp has the same crisp clean tone Marshall is known for. It also has great distortion. The 2switch foot controller is included & works fine but i splurged & bought the 4 switch foot controller cuz i liked the included tuner and FX tap switch. I really dig having all the effects in the head and they all sound great & ez to use. Hey, nomo batteries & toys to trip over! Most of all, this mg50 CFX is not heavy and unless u have roadies or a strong back, then u have to buy practical. No this amp is not my 1970 marshall stack but it still has that marshall sound and a load of practical reasons to own it. And who says an amp has to cost alot for it to sound good and this amp sounds good. However, if ur not happy with the tones, in our hi-tech world, u can always buy something to tweek it to ur idea of perfection. This little combo is perfect for any venue. Of course u have to mic it for large halls & outdoor fests but for small to moderate clubs, its got the power all by itself.
