Let me preface by saying I had to sell my Marshall Tube Combo for financial reasons, if you want a tube amp this isn't one but still some very nice Marshall tones. First is the tone. All four channels have a very nice, warm tone. Crunch & OD1 are my current faves because I've moved away a little from the super high gain tone. But I do love OD2, which is very high gain while retaining good note articulation. All four channels seem to have an innate ability to copy some of the classic Marshall Amps of the past, within reason. They all sound 100 Times better than a Blackstar modeling amp I tried and returned. I've read a review that complained about single note articulation, obviously you need good pickups with any amp. Second is the effects. Studio & classic Reverb, Phaser, Flanger, Delay and Chorus. While they aren't as good as stand alone analog pedals, they are very usuable and the best built in effects I've heard on a solid state amp. Lastly is the main thing I love about this amp, simplicity!! No downloading patches and software, not a ton of hard to understand buttons, just simple. You can store a setting for each of the four channels if you wish or go straight manual like I prefer. Overall; great warm tone, four channels, usable effects, great looks and simple design.

bought this because it was the only marshall amp combo available in solid state. Never used a marshall amp bought since it was top brand i bought this one thinking the sound would be top quality but was pretty disappointed. The sounds stay out of tune, their is horrible static noise that never goes away but instead keeps on increasing as you increase the volume. Your guitar may be in tune and working fine but this amp makes it sound like your guitar were out of tune. The noises it produces is messed up. I should of returned it but i opened it up and kept it for a while but had it been over $500 i would of returned it. My old 80's fender amp sounded way better than this marshall amp. The only thing good about this amp was that it produced super power sounds esp. when you hook this up to pc or cellphone to listen to music since its a solid state amp but its the only solid state amp available from marshall since companies like marshall have tried to sell cheaper amps called MODELING AMPS that do not have amps in them but have a computer processing chip that produces weak sound signals like your PC speaker. I'm getting a blackstar solid amp and thought about just getting a fender solid state amp since they are cheaper but was too worried about the speakers in the fenders.

Marshalls!!!!!

By Chuck Thompson

from New Jersey

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

Now your thinking, solid state 30 watt amp for this price, probably a peice of garbage. But marshall tricked me here. I had a fender deluxe reverb, an i was sick of it, i hated it. I love tubes but it was such a dull tone. I noticed lots of metal players using marshalls, so i tried this guy out. Now let me say, ive played on amazing amps before, some pricey. But if you need a practice amp, this is the one you need. any tone you need you'll get hence the 4 channels. And its light enough to lug around town or to gigs. GET IT!!!!!!

First Marshall

By Josh Garcia

from Sidney, Ohio

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I just got this amp the other day at a local retailer and the amp is amazing. Has a nice, deep, heavy tone. I find this Marshall amp cool and unique because of the silver control plate instead of the traditional gold control plate, plus the housing looks cool too and its sturdy. The reason why I gave this Marshall amp 4 stars is because the fact that you got to save your sound settings plus the octave effect is useless, to me anyway. Other than that this Marshall amp is killer and sounds great. I suggest this amp to anyone looking for a decent but loud enough practice or bedroom use amp, or if you want it louder than use any distortion pedal you have. Side note, the gain, overdrive channels, clean channels, bass, mids, treble, volume, and master volume all sound great by the way. I won't explain on how to use the store buttons because that'll click into you right away when you see and read the info so READ that way you won't get confused.

    Good Beginner Amp

    By Alex Barcic

    from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've had this amp for a while and it can handle anything. It has a great clean tone for being a solid state amp. The effects are nice and are useful if you don't have effect pedals. Its not loud enough with drums. I had it cranked all the way up and I could barely hear myself, so if you're starting a band, get something with a bigger speaker and with more watts. Awesome amp if your starting to play though.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I got this amp to replace the practice amp I'd been using (fender frontman), and it was a HUGE upgrade. It's the perfect practice amp that won't break the bank, and like some other reviewers have stated, can also be used to perform in small settings. If that's what you're looking for, look no further.

I made the mistake of buying a Fender Mustang II, 40W 12" - on paper it's the better deal, but in reality... I love my new 30W - 10" amp so much. Even if it has half the number of effects and no online software. IT SOUNDS GREAT - and at the end of the day, that's what really matters!
Easy to use, great sound and enough power/warmth despite the small speaker.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I researched a lot of amps around this size, and after hearing the sound, you can't go wrong with this one. Pay the extra $50 and get the 30W over the 15W; you won't be sorry. This amp can crunch, but it also has a mellow side if you want to go there. I am very happy with this amp and will purchase more Marshall equipment in the future. Just don't pay extra for the 2 day express at GC on a Wednesday and expect it to be there on a Friday. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I got this amp last year. Play through it at least three times a week at various volumes. It has an awesome sound and I don't have to use any effects other than what comes with the amp. However, I did get the foot switch. As my playing got better, I began to "LEARN" the amp and it's effects. It is an AWESOME amp with the classic "MARSHALL" sound.. You can't go wrong!!

I started playing guitar in 1989 but changed to bass guitar in the 1990's because it was easier to join a band that way since everyone played guitar. Now that I'm older and not playing in bands, I started playing guitar again for fun and realized how bad my practice amp was. I did my research on amps, and the good reviews I read on this one turned out to be true. It sounds amazing! It has a very clean and vibrant sound, and it brought out the best in my old Les Paul Studio!

This amp has a beautiful clean setting, and an excellent distortion and overdrive 2 settings. The overdrive 1 channel sounds a little digital, but its not too much to complain about. the other FX are great and its a fun amp to experiment with. Although im just getting into playing music, my more experienced friends have said that it is a great amp and will be one that will last for many years.

I been a player since I was 14, I'm 56 now, and I've owned a few Amps in My time, Big, Small, Practice, Built a couple,ETC....In My experience this Amp will cover a Multitude of Sin. Practice or Garage, Beginner or Pro. You got the Analog Heart of Marshall, (killer clean tone) And the effects, Ya, Ya, Ya dont have to cludder up your floor with too many Pedals. Although you may have to get a few to get the Exact sound you want, Buttt... Basically... You got a Studio at Your Comand. The Pitter Patter BS is up to YOUR descretion. I Personally Like this Jewel with an MXR 404 WHA, When I,m in a rowdy Mood, It will sing to me like, Am I Playing it, Or is it Playing Me? Anyway, keep a long story short, wheather your on a budget or not. This issss Theeee Amp to have.Plus you can use it with Headphones, Not to disturb your roommate or the Neighbors at O'clock in the Morning. If your looking for an Amp at 150 Bucks, Save your money Jest a little longer..AND GET THIS AMP !!!

Well, I was originally set on a cheap jam box, but they all sounded like Junk. There goes my $100 budget(fender, orange, etc.)... I plugged into this $200 Marshall, and WOW! This thing sounds ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! After 5 minutes playing it, I knew this was the amp. Screw the price, it was worth it. You can play this amp totally clean from the box and it has that DISTINCTIVE Marshall sound. Plug in a distortion pedal, then turn on the built-in Phaser and Reverb on the amp....WHAM you have that distinctive Eddie Van Halen or Rush sound. It's got plenty of kick for my garage, but if you really want to fill the air and pound the ground, you're better off going with a larger amp. I only bought this amp for my bedroom and garage practice, and it's still louder than needed.

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I went to my local Guitar Center after hearing a lot of vibe and reading good reviews on the web to test this guy out. I was not disappointed. The tone is definitely spot-on. It has a great OD-1 and OD-2 effect that have absolutely fantastic rumble; but if you want to turn that aggressiveness down a notch, that's okay, just turn a knob. PROS 1. Great tone. 2. Handles high and low sounds very well. 3. The effects are probably the best built-in effects on an amp out there. 4. Construction is really nice. In my opinion, the black carbon fiber looks fantastic. CONS 1. Nothing. If you're looking to buy an amp, don't hesitate about this one!

Comments about Marshall MG Series MG30CFX 30W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have been playing guitar for 20 years and have pretty much been a Fender man until now. For years I had pretty much stayed away from Marshall amps thinking that they were one trick pony hard rock amps. I never associated great clean tone with Marshall amps, that is until I heard the clean tone from this amp. It is simply a beautiful tone no matter how you dial it in from shimmering to jazzy. The crunch channel is slowly becoming my favorite and it is a good 30 watts loud. I had recently purchased a Vox Valvetronix 20 watt amp a month earlier, but once I heard this amp and put it through the test at guitar center, I quickly returned the Valvetronix and bought this amp. Good thing I did because there were only two left in the store and now they don't have any in stock. It's a solid state yes but it is an awesome sounding amp, so good that due to this amp, I am now a certified Marshall man who probably won't go back to Fender for some time to come. Thanks Marshall!

I was in the market for a low-wattage practice amp that also had a headphone jack. I tried a bunch of different models at GC and this was hands-down the best of the bunch. I've owned a JVM 100-watt in the past, and this little guy totally nails the Marshall sounds for clean, crunch and high gain. It's a fun amp that you could jam with for hours. I also tried the 15-watt model, but the 30-watt version had much better low end.

Although it's smaller than what I used to use back in the day, this amp packs plenty of power. More than ample for practicing and loud enough for small gigs. Lots of features make it a breeze to fine-tune your sounds. I love the tap delay button, very useful. The other built-in effects come in handy too. I haven't really gotten around to mixing my own custom presets but from what I can tell from the manual, it should be fairly easy to do. It's really got a great Marshall sound without the tubes! Awesome amp for someone on a budget or for someone who's just getting back into playing again, like me.
