OK, so I have owned a lot of practice amps (Gorilla, Pevey, Crate)and while some have sounded good, they didn't sound great. So I went through life thinking you had to pay a lot for great tone. Well I was in the market for a new amp and I saw that there was a $60 Fender amp online. I went to get it, the guys had no clue what I was asking about. Great. Then I saw this Marshall. Now, I have never really thought Marshalls were worth the money (I mean Slayer uses them as dummy stacks) so I wasn't interested at first then I got to thinking "Well, I've tried everything else" and the price was right as well. So I take it home, unbox it, plug it in, and OH MY GOD!!! The tone on this is amazing. Clean and Crunch both sound GREAT!!! If you are on the fence about this, just go ahead and get it. Love it. Special thanks to Trey, Spencer, and Mike at the Town East store in Mesquite, TX.
Love it! I have my main amp but that too large to lug around from room to room and outside. This is just the perfect size and I'm quite happy with the tone for such a small amp. I would recommend it as a 2nd or 3rd amp and for beginners.
Nice amp... good bang for your buck. Bought for a practice amp, but really has enough to be in between... whats the point if you have a 100w amp but can't turn it up past 2 :) ... Just a few quick categories below Looks - AWESOME! Sound - Good... I like the simplicity... the contour is an interesting setting... easy setup & adjustments.. No buzzing.. No fancy smancy stuff ..just a real good amp! Interface - Easy... also has an input which a lot of practice amps do not have... I run my tablet into the amp for backing tracks so this is a necessity Quality - Well made, quality construction everywhere. The Carbon looks really good too. Durability - I have had no issues
I've tried a bunch of practice amps in the 4" to 6" speaker range. This Marshall sounds great and the speaker has a very nice voiced tone. For about 10 months or so I've been walking six blocks to guitar classes, band classes, and tossing it in the trunk to drive to friend's houses to jam. This has taken a few hits and still sounds great and the electronics are still quiet. You would be surprised how much sweeter the solid state marshalls sound with an 8" speaker. So why buy this one? Well I my needs were for a quieter classroom amp, something I could carry on the walk to my classes and finally I didn't really want to spend $200 on a practice Amp. Whats the point? I wanted to put that money on a real nice setup. So for me this is the min you can spend and still get good tone.
Bought this for my child to sing with, The 'toys' from a toy store broke in a week, so I went to guitar center and bought a Marshall amp, and inexpensive microphones and cables. I bought the extended warranty and have not needed it. They take abuse of a 5 year old, and has a very natural sound. It would be good for practice at home. You can hear it through the house but not outside.
I was going to try to start playing electric guitar and withen minutes of me getting home it breaks... although this was on clearence. mabey it was on clearence for a reason. do not buy!
