Overview

From Marshall, the king of British sound, comes this amazing kit, packaged together for the ultimate half stack. The kit includes the Marshall MA Series MA100H 100W tube amp head and MA412 guitar speaker cabinet making it an outstanding full stack loaded with Marshall's legendary tone and power.

Marshall MA Series MA100H 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head
Marshall has always sought to provide outstanding tone to guitarists of every budget, and with the MA Series, all-tube Marshall tone is now more affordable than ever. The MA100H 100W tube head was carefully designed by Marshall's R&D team using the same basic principles as all Marshall amplifiers to deliver colorful, dynamic, unmistakable Marshall tube tone in a road-ready package.

Attractive Looks
The aesthetics of the Marshall MA100H head have been specially designed to create a look that stands apart from most other Marshall amps, while still retaining the essence of what people have become familiar with for over 45 years. Two orange LEDs illuminate the interior of the amplifier head, highlighting the power tubes. This effect is visible through the fret cloth where the trusty white script logo is mounted onto a solid piece of transparent Perspex.

Tube Power And Tone Simply Executed
The MA100H amp head is powered using the traditional Marshall mainstays of ECC83 double triode tubes in the preamp, and EL34 pentode tubes in the power amp. The amp head's layout and controls are kept simple, allowing you to explore unhindered the full potential of the all-tube tone within. The MA100H has separate EQ stages for both the Clean and Overdrive channels so you can optimally adjust each one without compromising the other. An extra benefit has been provided in the form of a tube-driven Boost function on the OD channel giving you, for example, a solo boost with more volume and gain. The Marshall amp also contains a spring reverb for use with all channels within the amp.

Intuitive and Practical
The MA100H amp head was designed with the flexible control demanded by today's players in mind, but with a streamlined feature set to keep it cost effective. Whether in your own home or gigging, setting up the sounds and relative levels is very easy. The supplied footswitch assists live performance letting guitarists toggle between settings like Clean to Overdrive, Clean to Boosted Overdrive, and Overdrive to Boosted Overdrive, ensuring maximum versatility.

Extras
Even though the MA range is designed as a no-frills, all-tube guitar amplifier, Marshall included a couple of extra features that allow for even more versatility. In addition to the all-tube preamp and power amp tone, Marshall MA amplifiers are equipped with an onboard spring reverb tank for an extra dimension to your sound. With the front-panel level control you can easily dial in how much you need for your own taste. All MA guitar amps are also equipped with a serial external effects loop for guitarists who want to add effects units into their sound. The nominal level of -10dBV is suited to stompboxes primarily, but not exclusively.

Marshall MA Series MA412 Guitar Speaker Cabinet
The Marshall MA412 guitar speaker cabinet was specially designed to complement the unmistakable Marshall tone of the affordable all-tube amp heads from the MA series. Loaded with four 12" Eminence AX-75 speakers and priced for the working musician.

This was the first tube amplifier I played on so it sounded really great to me as I was used to a cheap solid state. That combined with the facts that I needed a "real" amplifier and I heard this was a great amp lead me to purchasing it. Honestly, I do like the cleans. My every day guitar is an Ibanez RG2EX1. Not very good, but still sounds good through this amp on clean. I've played several very good guitars through this amp and that's when it really comes to life. Luckily I will be purchasing a new guitar soon that will let me use this amp to its full potential. So yeah, the clean is nice. Plenty of control over its tone even without any pedals, and the reverb is good. Unfortunately there's no switch for the reverb to turn it on or off. The distortion channels on this amp are awful and unusable. There's not nearly enough gain and everything sound really fuzzed out and scratchy. It doesn't sound good no matter what way you set it. I can get an amazing sound for distortion however if I run a Boss DS-1 through the clean channels. Way more gain, much better sound. I'm disappointed that a $40 pedal can get so much better distortion than an $800 Marshall, but hell if it works it works.

Ignore the haters

By Walter Barajas

from Michigan

Comments about Marshall MA100H and MA412 Half Stack:

Despite what some may be saying about this amp, it is very good for the price. This is my first tube amp (and stack) and I must say that this amp leaves an impression. For starters, it is immensely loud. I cannot play this amp with the volume knob higher than 1 and not hear somebody complain about the noise. Push it to 8 or 9 and if you are in the basement, your neighbors 3 houses down will hear it. Next, it has a great tone and is the best amp for the price. If you are thinking about this amp, GET IT. I decided to take the chance and buy it and I am very pleased with the results I have gotten. As far as durability and cosmetics go, the black vinyl covering tends to rip when scratched but other than that just take care of it and it will last you a long time. And not that you might care, but it looks really cool wherever you leave it. As far as clean and overdrive channels, the overdrive sounds more like a classic Marshall high-gain tone when you tweak it. As for the clean, mess with the EQ and you will get that perfect tube amp sparkle.

Excellent Amp!

Comments about Marshall MA100H and MA412 Half Stack:

Took delivery about 7 hours ago and just stopped now to write this. I traded up from a Line 6 Spider Jam, which is like going from a Volkswagen to an F1 car - perfect for small to medium-sized venues. The knobs are easy to navigate and true to pitch. The footswitch that came with it has a true "click" and won't take up much room on a pedal-board. The onboard distortion is fuzzy, so I put a distortion pedal on it and it flat out rocks! Pay attention to your Gain, Resonance & Presence and this amp is clear and warm without ANY effects at all, I'm giving it 5 stars because it meets the whole point of an amp - if it doesn't sound good clean it's not going to sound good on overdrive. This test was done with an Epiphone Les Paul and a Fender Telecaster. Oh...and playing it in my house? Volumes are on 1. On 4, the windows rattled - on 6 or 8, you can set off nearby car-alarms and sterilize household pets. On 10, you'll give the neighbor a coronary. But loudness isn't the point - TONE is the point and this thing has great warm tone! I tried about 30 different amps at the store and the only ones that sounded better were the higher-end Marshalls and Mesas. After 7 hours of playing the top of the head was only warm, not scalding hot, so this thing is built for speed.

Hate

By asdf

from little rock Arkansas

Comments about Marshall MA100H and MA412 Half Stack:

I got the impression this amp was godly. I got it and everyone said "It's awesome" etc. I got it home, got through the pain of carrying it up stairs unwrapping and all that. They left out a power cord so i used one from my other amp. The tone is just WAY too happy. I couldn't get a heavy tone out of this thing. It's too screechy and i just can't stand it. I'm going back refunding it and getting a Line 6 amp because my 75W can put out a MUCH heavier sound and a LOT better in every way than this amp. Only thing i like now is how it lights up. But other then that i hate it.

great marshall stack

By culver van vleck

from washington dc

Comments about Marshall MA100H and MA412 Half Stack:

4.5 stars. I tried this out last weekend at the guitar center and it is just as good as an amp that costs $1900 or more. It has limited effects and kind of fuzzy overdrive, (which may have been because i played it through a different cab,) so if you want more of a tube screamer overdrive, i would just get some pedals. If you already have pedals (wah, OD/dist, delay, Chorus/flanger) I would hands down get this amp, because a lot of amps cost more because they have the effects on board. You can get some great tones and power through this amp, it comes with a footswitch so you dont have to do it manually when youre onstage. Another thing i really like is the crunch balance dial, It lets you go from a straight up overdrive to a fully saturated distortion. It doesnt have wheels though,

Clean...good. Distortion...Bad

By Peanut3181

Comments about Marshall MA100H and MA412 Half Stack:

Ever since this amp came out i was really excited to play it. So i went to Guitar Center and picked up a Gibson Les Paul Studio and started jammin. I loved the clean sound on it but honestly the distortion sux. it's rly fuzzy and i can't get the deep, and bassy metal distortion like i can on a Line 6. You can use pedals n stuff for it but overall i don't even wanna mess with it. Go for a Marshall MG or a Line 6.

Good stuff

By Redhair

from Arlington, TN

Comments about Marshall MA100H and MA412 Half Stack:

I've had this amp for a few months. I love this thing, it takes some fiddling with the Presence and Resonance depending on how loud you have it turned up to get the sound you're looking for. Personally i don't like the distortion that came on the amp, but thats just me. I went out and bought an Ibanez TS-808 to get the sound i like. Overall, this amp is very clear, very loud, and sounds great.

Great Amp!

By David Vaughn

from Romeoville Illinois

Comments about Marshall MA100H and MA412 Half Stack:

A buddy of mine has this amp and it sounds great. I brought my SG over to play with it and it has great low end for rock and great high end for the softer music like Jazz and Blues. Over all this amp offers enough power for any style you play. This an amazing amp to own.
