Overview

The 100W Marshall JMD102 digital combo amp offers a balanced mixture of classic all-tube power and studio-quality effects, all wrapped in a single amazing Marshall package. The JMD102, part of Marshall's JMD:1 series uses this technology to create a vast library of tone styles firmly rooted in the foundations of Marshall amplifiers. The Marshall JMD102 combo provides interpretations of unmistakable classic sounds and a variety of combinations. These are delivered by the JMD102 amp in 16 easy-to-access topologies, replicated from component-level information for a truly natural and interactive playing experience.

The digital and tube combination for JMD102 110W amp
After working closely with the digital experts from Softube, Marshall created a digital and tube combo amplifier solution that offers a multitude of tones, allowing the guitarist to experience and experiment with a variety of preamplifier topologies from Marshall's history, all in combination with the power and warmth of a traditional EL34-based power amp stage.

The Marshall JMD102 guitar amp delivers a compilation of tones created by Marshall over the past 45 years, from a vintage plexi, to a JCM 800, all the way through to a high-gain JVM. For instance, have you ever wondered what a 1974 preamp would sound like through a monster 100W tube stage with a hint of reverb for ambience? The JMD102 combo lets you do that. Do you want to try a Guv'nor pedal through the power of a Marshall 50/50 power amp and a hi-fi style delay? The JMD102 lets you do that too. What makes this Marshall combo amp so adaptable and versatile, is that it is completely programmable, allowing you to store your sounds and then access them again with ease.

Marshall's delicate balance between technology and tone
Instead of trying to mimic the overall sound of an amplifier by simply creating a copy of the tone that is generated, the Marshall JMD102 amplifier takes into account every nuance of a preamp. Not only recreating the tone accurately, but also how the unit reacts when you make adjustments to the equalization.

The familiar Marshall front panel is extensive in features and easy to navigate. Selecting the preamp sound you want is as simple as choosing one of the 16 sounds from the rotary preamp control. This section has been divided into 4 separate groupings for ease of use; Clean, Crunch, OD, and Lead. From there, all you have to do is set up your EQ section and choose and adjust which of the quality effects you desire. Storing this sound is just a matter of holding down one of the 4 channel buttons on the amp or saving to the footcontroller, storing everything from the EQ to the parameter of chosen effects. So now you're able to go from a classic low-wattage tube sound with a hint of reverb; to a traditional high-gain '80s lead sound with delay for solos; to a scooped-out metal sound, incorporating chorus with the press of a button.

Marshall Custom FX
The effects section of the JMD102 guitar amp gives access to a host of popular FX, all of which have been tailored specifically to give the best possible response. Not only are the effects redesigned, they are also fully adjustable to be as subtle or extreme as you wish. The effects are divided into 3 separate stages: Modulation, Delay, and also an independent Reverb.

Functionality from studio to the stage
With the included footswitch, the Marshall combo can work to its full ability. The JMD102's foot- controller enables the player to store 4 sounds across 7 banks, giving the option of storing 28 sounds and the ability to access any of them at any given time. When sounds are stored in the foot- controller or the amplifier, the JMD102 recalls everything apart from the master volume and the Presence. MIDI switching capabilities also allow the user to control the amplifier remotely, and add the possibilities of up to 128 configurations. Effects loops allow the player to add in any personalization they require, and the balanced line out contains the best Marshall speaker cabinet simulations for directly recording a multitude of tones.

Great Amp!

By Alexa Machulis

from San Francisco

Comments about Marshall JMD1 Series JMD102 100W 2x12 Digital Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is great for any style of music you play. Metal, jazz, blues anything! Its an 100watt amp with a preamp to capture the warmth of your guitar. The distortion is a very clean distortion, no need for a pedal. It serves as a great home practice amp, or you can play shows with it. All in all, great amp!

Unbelieveable

By steve

Comments about Marshall JMD1 Series JMD102 100W 2x12 Digital Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is the definition of versatile. I've owned it for a couple of months now and Marshall really outdid themselves on this amp without overdoing the pricetag ;). It has the crispest of cleans and a punchy yet not muddy overdrive, similar to a vintage modern. oh... and its VERY loud, which is always a plus. Good for gigs or band practice.

By Tim

Comments about Marshall JMD1 Series JMD102 100W 2x12 Digital Guitar Combo Amp:

I have not bought this unit YET, but it is the next thing I am going to get. I have been "playing" through 1 every visit to GC. I have run 20 different guitars through it. Tried it loud, played it soft, played metal, classic, hard and soft rock through it, it does it all. I know it's not a tube amp but I get tones I love. I am saving up for this. if you got the money buy it now!

Comments about Marshall JMD1 Series JMD102 100W 2x12 Digital Guitar Combo Amp:

I have a Marshall amp of my own but the past couple times I've gone to my local Guitar Center, I played on one of these Marshall amps and i just love Marshall amps even more. I would prefer a tube Marshall but this was good too. It has amazing tone and sounds amazing even if you turn it up really loud.

Superb design

By PHILIP CHIRONIS

from Newport Beach, CA

Comments about Marshall JMD1 Series JMD102 100W 2x12 Digital Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp can do anything from great cleans to crunch to overdrive tones and everything inbetween. In fact it can be cranked up for loud playing or rolled back for bedroom levels while continually maintaining sustain and quality tones. A great buy also when you look at the competition in that price range.
