Comments about Marshall DSL15C 15W All-Tube 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Used it only in my living maybe an hour a week. Died a few times but leaving alone over night it worked the next day. Died for good the other day. Assume it's tube issue but service is non existent and tubes are only covered for 90 days.

    Sorely Disappointed

    By LAWRENCE

Comments about Marshall DSL15C 15W All-Tube 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was excited to get my first tube amp, but I was sorely disappointed at this Marshall product. Descriptions and reviews on this amp stated that you can get a classic rock crunch on the classic gain channel, for an AC/DC or Zeppelin sound as an example. I found the classic channel had nice cleans, but I had to turn the gain up to 10 and the volume almost as high to get anything close to a classic rock crunch. On the other hand, the ultra gain channel had a very large amount of distortion even at level 2 and therefore couldn't be regulated down to make up for the lack of crunch on the classic gain. Plus anything past 5 on the ultra gain was too muddy in my opinion. Lastly, I used this amp to practice maybe 5 times over a period of 2 weeks, and then it simple stopped producing any sound. I returned it to Guitar Center for a refund. I was so looking forward to having my first Marshall tube amp, and will probably not look at another Marshall product after this experience.

    Mighty Might!

Comments about Marshall DSL15C 15W All-Tube 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Great little Amp for practice, recording or gigging if you mic it through a PA. Like the Marshall tone but don't need paint peeling volume, then this is the amp to get. Tones of different tones in this little monster but all Marshall all the time. Watch the vid that is usually associated with sites selling this amp and you will get an idea of what is available when it comes to tone. Play and Les Paul and Strat through this amp and they both sound spectacular. For the money you can't beat it!

    Versatile Amp

    By sam

Comments about Marshall DSL15C 15W All-Tube 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

About a week in with this amp and am starting to get a feel for its capabilities. Really a lot of sounds you can get out of the dsl15. classic/clean-ish channel is great with the gain cranked, put a clean boost pedal in front of it and it cranks a nice full lighter marshall bite, fantastic tone. ultra gain has a lot of overdrive and distortion. I find between 1-2(8-9 oclock) is the sweet spot for classic humbucker crunch. don't really play any metal or anything that hard but that's what belongs up past that. distinctly marshall. some have complained about EQ difference between channels, but as long as you have the vol up half way ,the ultra gain fills out better. eq is very responsive, the deep button gives great punch, mid shift is a more compressed scoop sound for heavier stuff. Reverb is nice and clean, but you need it up around 7+ to hear it well.speaker is ok, nothing exceptional, but I through a cannabis rex in and it really gave it noticeably more punch. I have owned a blues jr, ac15, ac4, and almost a tweaker 15 but the lack of reverb an amount of switches actually put me off so went dsl15. This is a great amp, plenty loud, and has a great range of tones. play one if you can!

Well I really love Marshall. It has the golden controls and the Marshall logo, it looks gorgeous. The sound is really good. I like the British sound, even put my Gt100 aside. The price is not bad and no so good, but man it has valve and Marshall logo.

    DSL15C Tone

    By Juan Cagigas

    from Mission Viejo, California

Comments about Marshall DSL15C 15W All-Tube 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I like the way this amp sounds with most of my guitars so far. I fell in love with this when I used it to demo a Les Paul Standard Plus, which I purchased. I could not get the great 6V6 tone out of my head. It sounds very good to me with the lesser gainy BB Pros on my Standard. It also sounds very good on my LP Special with much hotter 490/498T pickup combo. When I first tried it out, I was not that impressed by the Classic Gain channel. After getting it home and trying out, even in an acoustically dead room, the Classic gain channel sounds very good! I like the way the Celestion sounds in it. It wss more broken in at the store when I tried it out. I'm glad because that was another factor I like about it. This amp is loud enough to gig with and yet, it can go down to half power for more neighborhood friendly use. Some people don't like this amp because it does not have a return/send feature. It would have been nice to have but, it was not a deal breaker with me. One last note, The Ultra gain, I keep at around one otherwise it is a bit over the top for my use.

    Bring your boots...It gets Muddy.

    By Russell Richardson,Jr

    from New Orleans

Comments about Marshall DSL15C 15W All-Tube 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp was a disappointment for the dirty channel only. The Clean is really good and has a good clarity and bottom end that is more articulate than other amps out there. Maybe not Fender, but still most. The dirty channel was a HUGE letdown. It does not do any sound well. No rock, hard rock or metal?NOTHING. Using the equalizer and the tone shift helped a little, but still the more you turned up the gain the more muddy it became. And when you flipped on the deep switch that made it worse. I think it?s the 6V6 tubes that killed this thing. I tried the 40 watt version with EL34s and that thing destroys this. But at least this is better than the MA series.

    Groovy Little amp

    By MARCO MUIRETTA

    from Mission Viejo California

Comments about Marshall DSL15C 15W All-Tube 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Nice tone I mean it was really bright at times but way nicer than the old Haze series imo! Liked the Deep switch which almost makes it as dark as a Laney AOR30 but its price makes it a steel for a new Marshall would recommend to anyone looking for an in expensive practice/ rehearsal amp.
