Marshall 1987XL Vintage Series 50W Tube Head

Comments about Marshall 1987XL Vintage Series 50W Tube Head:

Just bought this and a 1960AV 1/2 Stack. Great Sound and reminds me a lot of the 50 watt aluminum panel head I had back in 1972 - which I think was the same thing more or less. This amp is well constructed with a solid thick PCB and the tube sockets-pots-controls on the chassis where they belong - it should last longer than me. The nice glassy Marshall crunch is what this beast delivers - and with my ES 137 I nail Clapton's Crossroads sound. Very Nice. The AMP has good solid Dagnall trannys and very neat wiring. All in all - and I am a point to point tag board kinda guy - I'm very pleased with the way this amp is built - it is my main gigger and I have 8 AMPS now including a couple I built.
