Comments about Marshall 1960TV Cabinet:

Guys this is a great cabinet. If you want the old vintage sound like I did then this is the cabinet you. I have a 50 watt plexi that I paired it with and it's a great match. The lows are very warm, the mids are great and the highs are bright.Sounds great at low volume and awsome turned up, but you better strap your feet down to the floor if you dare to crank it up because it's going to blow you away. Sounds great when you play clean, distorted, dirty or what ever way you play, you will love this cabinet like I do. It's truly the sound of yesteryear. Nice job Marshall Products.

I bought this cabinet over the 1960 ax because of the sound. If you play any Cream, Zep, Hendrix and so one, this cab sounded better to me. The size is a little different and Marshall doesn't make a bottom cabinet but check out the dimensions, they are pretty close to other Marshall cabinets if you want to stack it.

Best sound 4x12 ever made!

About Me Experienced

Comments about Marshall 1960TV Cabinet:

I picked one up used without speakers...I installed four 25 watt WGS Green Beret speakers in it....I wired them identical to how Marshall wires them using a single input.

The TV 4x12 Cabinet is taller and a little thinner than my standard 1960 Lead cabinet.
When I finely heard them side by side I have to say the TV cabinet has a lot more bass percussive tone up close verse the standard Marshall 1960 Lead which sounds better to me when I am 10 feet away from it.

The WGS drivers I bought are considered green back clones...They are an affordable option if your looking for something with the same tone for a little less money.

I am currently using my own TV cabinet with a Bugera 1960 Infinium head and couldn't be happier.

This half stack nails classic rock from ACDC to Clapton and even gets to the earlier Hallen tones with just a little reverb and delay.

I've been noodling for a long time and in my experience owned a few different 4x12 cabinets but only one TV cabinet.

The TV cabinet sounds bigger in sound like no other 4x12 I have owned.

They are made using Birch plywood (not marine grade like a Mesa 4x12).
This makes them much lighter weight cab to haul around despite it's taller size. I can remember my Mesa cabinet was over a 100lb and very heavy to carry.
Mesa pressure treats their wood with a mold resistant chemical calling it marine grade which adds to the weight when you soak a wood with water based anti fungal chemicals...This process also makes them sound extremely dull by eliminating the natural acoustic sound from wood that resonates tone. Gives a flat dull tight tone.

Not the case with any Marshall cabinet I have ever used. Marshall cabinets are known for sounding more acoustic by nature because they resonate by speaker vibration from inside. Maybe the reason most professionals use them.

Marshall has always been the industry standard and go to company for tone by all the greats that have recorded epic albums.

The Marshall 1960 TV cabinet (tall vintage) looks unusual in size, uses an actual basket weave wood grill that produces a huge sound for just a single 4x12 enclosure. It actually rivals my Marshall JMP full stack when it comes to tone but not over all volume due to four drivers vs eight but as far as recording goes there is no better.

If you ever have a chance to play through one side by side against a standard 4x12 you will hear the difference. I most certainly have been able to do so and want to share my experience.

No other cabinet on the market can or will sound like the Marshall 1960TV 4x12.

Maybe changing speakers will add to the tone in any cabinet but it's the dimensions and the wood being used that resonates that gives off an acoustic tone no marine grade cabinet can ever deliver. it's the total package that distinguishes a good cabinet made over the others.

Marshall for life!

You'll be DEAF!!!

Comments about Marshall 1960TV Cabinet:

Seriously this is LOUD!!!! I'd plug my JCM 900 into this cabinet at vol 2 and MY NEIGHBOR knocked my door to shut it down!!! It has that crunch you need for the hard rock and it has great bass and sparkly tone you want for metal, the clean is crispy and tight and the dynamics are outstanding. Also it is a little bigger than the 1960's cab and it has a great look grill. My bandmate has a regular 4x12 cab and he has to play about vol 5 when I play at 2, with the same amp&settings!!! So far I'd play blues, jazz, metal, hard rock and this cabinet has exactly the dynamics I've been looking for. This has been my best invest in cabinets and I'm sure you'll find YOUR sound easier with this gear.

Marshall TV cabs

Comments about Marshall 1960TV Cabinet:

I have been playing for onver 40 years. Yes, 40 years and played at one time all kinds of music. For the classic rock or great blues sound many factors are needed from the type of guitar and pickups, boxes, etc. THis is the BEST sounding cab every!!! I have a Marshall 1957 head. THe tone is that tone for the classic rockers. NOthing will touch it. This is it. The other cabs/speakers will just not do it. Get it and it will be with you forever.

Amazing cab

Comments about Marshall 1960TV Cabinet:

I bought this cab a year ago and have gigged this cab a considerable amount. I have ran 5150's, valveking's and mesa heads through the cab and it sounded great with all of them. The music that I play is metal and the cab has a great low end response. I highly recommend this cab to anyone.

First and last cab I'll own

By Jester2254

from Nashville, TN

Comments about Marshall 1960TV Cabinet:

Before I purchased this from a local store, I did alot of research. I was sceptical about the 100W only, but everyone I talked to raved about the Greenbacks. When I first hooked the 1960 TV up to my rig, I was blown away, maybe even lost some hearing! Holy crap, this thing's a beast! My Les Paul has an incredible low end punch through the 1960 TV. The tonal range is phenomenal. MY 61 RI SG also sounds great, the 1960 TV sounds awesome whether clean or at full roar. What I like best about the 1960 TV is it allows different characteristics of different guitars to be heard. This is the first cab I've owned and I'm still blown away by the monster tone. Hook it up with good guitars and tube amps, be prepared to have several compliments regarding the quality of your tone.

Beautiful Tone

By RGallagherfan

from TX

Comments about Marshall 1960TV Cabinet:

I recently bought a Marshall 1959slp 100w reissue head and this cab, which sound beautiful together. I play a gibson les paul and fender strat and with the right settings both sound incredible. I especially love the extended bass of this cab compared to the other 1960's. I only wish Marshall made a matching bottom so I could have a giant full stack!
