Overview

The Marshall 1960X consists of 4 separate birch ply enclosures, each loaded with a Celestion G12M Greenback 12" speaker and has a 100W power handling rating. Tonally this speaker cabinet falls between the 1960A's brightness and the 1960TV's warmth. Greenback G12M speakers have a very distinctive sound with a fast, snappy response that adds detail and dynamics to both clean and distorted playing. The 1960X Extension Cabinet uses the early '70s LC checkered grille cloth and a less-textured vinyl covering. If used as a half stack with a 100W head, a power brake is recommended.

Features
  • 4 x 12 Celestion Greenback G12M speakers
  • 100W handling
  • Checkered grille cloth
  • Straight or Angled front

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

Very happy with the tone of the 1960TV and it makes a perfect compliment to my 1059HW head. 25w Greenbacks sound warm and can be easily pushed, unlike other 1960 cabinets with more powerful speakers. The extra 4 inches of height makes it a little unusual looking but it does have a vintage vibe.

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I have the 1960AX/BX full stack with a 2203 KK on top, man, if you are familiar with Metal superstars concerts, that's the same feeling, thanks to the preamp volume I can recreate that beautiful distorded sound pluggin in my standard Les Paul and SG, Sabbath, Judas, Whitesnake, Hendrix, Cream, can't wait for a big gig to use it LOUD TO THE TOP.

Great in every way.

By Dakota

from Bagley, Wisconsin

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I KNOW this is the PERFECT gigging amp. It creates a blast of sound so heavy in quality that it drips. This amp produces beautiful sound quality, and is extremely high in the hall of great amps. Great buy.

Marshall BX Cab

By Zoso722783

from Hoffman Estates, IL

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I've Had the this cab for a while and it's treated me well. I could think of nothing less than greenbacks blowing through my ears. Match it with a plexi head like me, and your set. Well all you need is a gibson. Anyways, this thing RAWKS! I used to have the 1960 AV, but this thing rocks the Hell out of it! Anyways, this thing won't do the justice if you don't have the right amp, and guitar. And if you want the Zepp,AC/DC, and all the great classics, get this one. Trust me, it won't let you down.

A classic

By Robert

from Scottdale Pa

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

Nothing compares to these classics. Great marshall cabs with awesome sounds and tone. I hook these up with any amp and get a great loud sound. These cabs are also super durable, i had one fall about 8 feet with no real damage done except a small scratch where it landed. I anticipate never replacing these cabinets. Nothing compares to the full sound these put out, plus the great classic grill cloth look looks great on stage.

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

Ive had this amp for the last 4 years and this amp is the complete package ive played everywhere with this sounds great when you really get to play it loud. I plugged it into my fender deluxe reverb amp head and holy cow it sounds amazing. A big muff distortion pedal sounds really good with this cabinet too. Very full and the sound projects to the audience.

love it

By 56goldtopp90

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

Igot one of these in 1979 and I still have it. I have kept it in an anvil case at all times while not in use in clubs or on the road. The original speakers are still in it and sound great! I use a 1979 100w super lead with master volume and separate pre-amp controll and it is the best amp that I've heard in my life. I am 52 yrs old and have played in studio, concert and clubs for over 25 yrs.

A great cabinet

By Supa Dave

from Inland Empire, Ca

Comments about Marshall 1960AX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

You can't go wrong with a marshall. The 1960 ax cabinet is perfect for those players that are looking for more of a classic sound. I've had mine a couple years and haven't had a single problem. It great for gigging. Although it may be a little pricier, its worth it. A professional cab is not cheap. It's fun to haul this cab on stage and blow away everyone sound. Many people have commented on the cool retro look the cab has. The Greenback are wel worth it. Don't settle for anything less. Marshall is the way to go.
