NEW REVIEW - good enough

I got this amp before i went on vacation, it can get pretty loud, allows you to walk around, clean and overdrive channel. The batteries in there really last, you wont have to change them more than once a month. It obviously can't sound as good as a regular amp, but for a pocket amp, it is the best and really gets the job done.

Its mini-Marshall!!!

I got this little amp a couple of days ago and I am amazed by the quality that Marshall put into this thing. This is my first Marshall and it has left a good impression. The ability to walk around the house, park, or city square and noodle on my guitar is priceless. Although it is a little pricey for an amp that is smaller than my hand, it is worth it because of the quality. The sound is so clear. The distortion (or Over Drive to be technical) has a very AC/DCish sound to it. In fact the first riff you would probably want to play in OD mode is the one from Back In Black. Overall, great product. What else would you expect from a Marshall?

Its small but its strong

"Wow" is the only thing I can say. I had seen this little fellow in the Guitar Center website and I thought it was an accesory meant only for fun. But it was a big surprise when I arrived at the store and tried it out. I was amazed. The clean channel is very clear and overdrive...its just amazingly loud! I bought it immediately before anyone else could take it. I have been playing it since 6 months ago and have never had a problem with it. And another thing I like about it is that the battery lasts a very long time. Buy it, trust me you won't regret it! I thank Marshall Amps for the incredible MS-2 Mini Amp.

The little amp with a big attitude

Boy was I in for a treat when I made a decision to purchase the Marshall MS-2 mini-amp! I was on my way to college and no way was I going to lug my bigger amp back and forth when i wanted to come home or return to my dorm. The MS-2 is the perfect companion for a traveling guitar. And friend ;) It will test your mind, and your head, and your brain too. For the amazing price and the convenience of this miracle, I just couldn't say no to Marshall. I have yet to see a downside to this little amp, and I don't plan too either. Some might say it's bark is bigger than it's bite, but I say "Wait untill you here me shred the tastiest lick your ears have ever dined on." All in all, the Marshall MS-2 mini amp is a rollercoaster ride i just can't put down. I'm convinced it'll do the same for you.

Marshall Mini amp

I got this amp just so I could play in the car or just about anywhere. It clips to your belt and it gives a great clean sound and it does have some distortion. It conserves batteries nicely and keeps going and takes anything you can throw at it. I recommend this amp for anyone wanting an amp to take with them and rock whenever possible!

Mini me

The Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp is surprisingly decent for something that looks like a desktop toy. You get Volume, Tone and a 3-position knob for Off, On (clean), and Overdrive. You even get a belt clip and a headphone jack on the side. A single 9v battery is all it takes to power this little demon up. It actually gets fairly loud, too. An MS-2 is great for jamming in your guitar case for those last-minute warmups or those after-hours cooldowns.

It's the little things that count

My mother took me shopping for my 14 b-day. I had bought myself an electric guitar the summer before. When we got to the music store we asked the seller to show us some amps in the $30 range. After he stopped laughing, he presented me with the ms-2. After hearing the demo I was ecstatic. But I was only 14 and my appreciation didn't last for more than a few years.I would play it here and there. After many years(about 16) I found it in my mom's carport. I popped in a new battery, crossed my fingers, and turned the power knob. POWER ON. I have had bigger more expensive amps go out on me in much shorter time. I'll be 31 in January and I now have the sense to appreciate what my mother bought for me. Not just becase it was a gift; but the darn thing still works. THe price has gone up about $10 but I'm sure after 16 yrs. the quality has as well. A great gift for someone else or yourself. There is nothing bad to say about this amp. Every review i have read is right on the money. It really is the little things that count.

Whoa

This is a great little thing, especially if you have a Gibson or and Epiphone SG. It's clean setting is perfect, but adds the same Marshall twang you get from their other amps. The only problems are that the clean setting must be turned up almost halfway to be heard without straining your ears. And the preinstalled battery goes after a month, but that's just small stuff. The overdrive is magic, even if there is no opional drive dial. For going places, lowering the electic bill or just having fun, this is an excellent amp.

Good Amp!

This little thing is great! It's easy to use and is very simple. The features could be a little bit more elaborate, but it's a miniamp, so you can't complain. This thing also can sit for three days with the amp on before running low on battery juice, which is good. It has two settings: clean and overdrive. The clean lives up to it's name, but you have to crank up the volume a bit to hear it, but that's no problem. The overdrive is good, but strange. The more volume you add, the more distortion comes through the box. It seems odd, but it never gets in the way. If you are looking for an amp, be it your first, or one you want take places, or just to mess around with, this is the perfect amp for you.

Portable Musician

I bring my guitar with me to work all the time because it's boring. I'm able to pass the time thanks to this thing. I play about 3 hours a day, 4 days a week. It's already been 2 months and the battery it originally came with still powers it. I strap it to my belt and play. When on, the cleans are nice for what it is. But what I really like is the distortion it gets when you max the volume and put it on overdrive. Wonderful wonderful little amp. Great buy for anyone who doesn't want to lug a giant amp around with them.
