With this line being fairly new to the market. I was a little worried. I ordered even though there aren't a lot of reviews on it and I wasn't able to play it. However, the minute I plugged it in, I knew I had made an extremely great choice. First off, the classic channel allows you to have a gain that almost compares to a big muff pedal (almost) and then the modern channel gives you everything you need. On top of all that, you can blend the two channel together and create a 3rd sound! A lot of people might not feel the need for using three different channels, but I've found it very useful. I've only owned it for about 2 weeks now but I feel there is so much more that I haven't discovered yet with this. I play about 150-200 shows a year and I look forward to having this amp for a very, very long time. Marshall, feel free to send me the matching 8x10 cab any time:)
I've been an Ampeg all tube guy my whole life and never considered using anything else. Then I decided I wanted a channel switchable amp for live situations. I tried out everything I could get my hands on and the MB-450H blew them all away. I play in an 80's metal cover band and this thing couldn't be any more perfect. You can get a tight mid range push with the modern channel and then switch to the classic channel for the tube driven bottom end Steve Harris sound. You can accomplish this via the foot switch which is included. Then hit the boost button and crank up the gain knob and you have the Geezer Butler distortion. All of that and it's not even that expensive. Buy it !!
This is an amazing amp .. if you are serious than spend the money without even thinking. but for a starter wait and just get a practice amp cause it will give you time later to think about the style you want and if you really want to keep playing. but i am using this amp for shows and its amazing. it has a great sound and you cant beat the power. i have played on several bass amps and i cant find one i love more. and who can beat that Marshall classic sound.
