If you're just playing at home, or if you're the only guitar in the band, this will do well, but played side-by-side with a traditional Marshall (the ones with the white piping), it comes up short. The rhythm guitar player in my band has the same Marshall TSL head that I use, but he went for economy on the cabinet. His resulting tone isn't half of what it should be.
This cab is simply amazing. I play gigs with my band all the time at an incredibly high volume, and not once have I experienced any problem. Its incredibly versatile, and can warm the hearts of any guitar player no matter what tone there looking for.
I own this cabnit and ive used it with my JCM 900 Head and my MG FX 100 head. I use a Les Paul Studio and a Ibanez guitar straight through the head for Zep tunes and use a Metal Zone pedal for Metallica. This Cab shakes the windows and roof PLENTY of bottom end and volume,very clean sound and capability for any style you wont be disapointed, ive been playing for 30 yrs and this cab by itself or and with the straight cab kicks but,never had a problem with this Cab it can handle the volume.
