  First off, I don't like ANY other Marshalls than THIS series, the JVM. I like more of the Peavey 6505 Gain, and a VERY clear clean channel, but it's hard to find 1 amp that can pull it off. This though is the closest thing I have found on the market today. With 4 channels you can save, it's quite ingenious. Mine are set up 1: Clean, 2: Rhythm Gain, 3: Lead Gain, and 4: Silent for tuning. The cleans are clear, and can range from acoustic sounding (Deep and rich), to chimey (electric clean). The Gain settings are very diverse. On the clean channel you can get some light gain, and medium light (just enough to sound dirty). On the OD channels though, you can go from Classic rock ('60s and '70s) a British tone (That signature Marshall Medium Heavy gain), and a Modern Hi-Gain (Peavey 6505 ((aka 5150)), Bogner Ubershcall, Krankenstein, etc). I find this diversity VERY usefull. This amp might look intimidating at first sight, but watch the vids on Marshalls website, or just explore yourself, it's very easy to use. As I stated at the beggining, I like HI-GAIN, and I don't even use pedals on this except Wah, noise, tuner, and a Delay. Match it with a Marshall 1960 Vintage cab for even greater tone (I use straight cab).

  MARSHALL DELIVERS AGAIN. the entire JVM series is totally amazing. ok so lets start this review with the basics. i LOVE the dual master volume thing that this amp has going on. its so perfect for live shows, and makes everything sound really professional. its so satisfying to just switch over to a higher volume instantly for a solo. and the presence and resonance knobs are also really effective, unlike some other amps that make it seem like those knobs are just there for show. ok so this amps also got several channels. less channels than the JVM 410, but they give you the same tone without all of the messy knobs/interface thingy, which i consider to be a plus. clean channel sounds amazing with a strat, not so much with a les paul, but thats just kinda how clean channels usually go. crunch is gnarly. it can go from a slight buzz to some original classic british rock sound. overdrive is my favorite channel on here...LOTS of range gain wise, but not that annoying tasteless shred gain, it actually keeps your tone the same. this amp can do it all. now time for negatives...ok so the gain is a little sensitive. just a tiny turn will sometimes take the gain to ridiculous levels on the overdrive channel. the master volume has a similar thing, its hard to find that perfect "just playing inside your house not in an arena" kind of volume, its a very loud amp. which can be good and bad. anyways thats all i got i think i may be running out of characters haha. seriously tho, one of the most versatile tube amps on the market.

  This amp is really like 6 amps in one. If you need an amp to cover 50's through today in terms of tone, look no further. Each channel has 3 different voicings from clean,dirty to all out mayhem. The footswitch can be assigned any combination and it is easy to manipulate.I like the different color led's to let you know what mode your in. My only small complaint is that the reverb is not that great. Most players won't care but, if you want that fenderish type of clean w/reverb, this isn't going to happen. Great amp to cover a wide variety of tones. I Plan on purchasing the 50 watt version.
