  I had heard much regarding valve-rectified amps. One would hardly notice until compared to solid-state rectifiers; they are worlds apart. I have played for nearly 50 years--used many vintage rigs--this JTM45 re-issue plays with anything! The Tone: a clean, warm sound cherished by many. To compare, the usually tinny sound from a Stratocaster bridge pickup has the warmth of the neck pickup. The tone becomes more underpinned as the volume increases--the ghost-harmonics as advertised are subtle but present. The configuration allows audiophiles to recapture vintage tone. The Volume: Don't be fooled by 30-Watts--the sound density is more than adequate for a small to medium-sized hall. Excellent sound density and stage spread. Plug it into a 100-Watt 1959 if you must. Needless to say, excellent volume in a light compact head. Fit and Finish: excellent quality construction; nothing cheap here. The head functions as designed--truly Marshall superior quality standards. Price: I needed to mention this because I ordered the head during the Memorial Day Sale. Kudos to Guitar Center for putting customer service over profit! Musicians Friend would not give me the sale price because the item was special order; GC did! Either the wait was 2 months but well worth it. Value: While some would merely say, "It's a Marshall". Whatever. I see these amplifiers only increasing in value; to the present term, I feel I received that for which I paid. Player satisfaction is key--and I receive much from it. I use a 1960BHW 4 x 12 cabinet to push it along. Very nice. I have heard the 1960ATV with Greenbacks is better--my ears tells me differently. At any rate--my purchase recommendation is high--don't be discouraged by the ship dates; get one while Marshall is producing them. Happy Playing--Keith
