Two channels of legendary power and sound.

The Marshall DSL100H tube guitar amp head has footswitchable Classic Gain and Ultra channels, each boasting two modes - Clean/Crunch and Lead 1/Lead 2 respectively. These will take you from Plexi-style, pristine clean to JCM800 snarl, hot-rodded 2203, high gain lead and all points in-between. The flexibility of the shared 5-way EQ (Treble, Middle, Bass, Resonance and Presence) section is increased further by a Mid-Shift button - perfect for modern metal brutality.

A series FX loop on the rear panel (bypassable via an on/off switch) adds to the DSL100H's professional flexibility, as does the Pentode (Full Power)/Triode (Half Power) switch which drops the power-amp's output to 50-Watts. It also changes the amp's tonal character as Triode mode produces a smoother, less aggressive sound.

Marshall DSL100H 100W All-Tube Guitar Amp Head Features:

  • Two footswitchable channels - Classic Gain & Ultra Gain
Two Modes per channel for extra flexibility

  • Amazing amp, amazing price

As reviewed by Sam Guseman on 2/22/2013

I played this amp at my local guitar center and was floored. It may be more price conscious, but there is no compromise in quality. I played this amp in the "Loud Lounge" so that way I didn't have background noises influencing my hearing. I plugged this bad boy into a Mesa 2x12 (the most convenient cabinet) and a Gibson LPJ. I first tested the clean. It's not that bassy like a fender, but still sound good if you roll down the treble. I then proceeded to mess around with the reverb. It's a pretty good sounding reverb, I will admit. I personally like to have it at 12 o clock. I would talk about the crunch mode, but personally I don't dig "crunch" tones. Next the ultra gain channel. Lead 1 was amazing. It just has that crunch that makes you want to play! Put it on Lead 2 mode, that's what made me want to buy this amp. Just sooooo amazing! It's just classic Les Paul and Marshall! the toe of Rock!! My only problem is that the foot switch doesn't allow you to switch between modes. But other than that, bad a**!!!

  • All you need!

As reviewed by chris kitchen on 10/20/2012

This guitar head is all you need! The dual lead is nice but if they just had put that on a footswitch it would have been over the top. It has enough power that you can jam at home (with the triode switch/ pentode switch) or on stage with a 8 ohm cab and you will never pass 5 on the dial and the louder it gets the more the tubes scream. The best part about this head is that you can dial it in for any type of music that you play from Metal to country, The 2 lead switch is over the top for metal. I had a rocktron gainiac 2 and it never came close to this level of distortion. For the money you can't beat this head for sound, power, and versatility. The construction kind of sucks because they put a vent right on top for heat control. Other than that Marshall has another winner.

  • Am I Missing Something?

As reviewed by Matthew Finfer on 2/28/2013

Granted, I play blues, classic rock & americana style - so I am looking for a sweeter, warm semi-clean, and moderate overdrive tones. I bought this amp bbecause I wanted an EL34 tube amp and the reviews were positive. When I received this, I played it maybe 5 minutes, back in the box it went. Very this, shallow, and tinny sounding. Might be good for super high levels of distortion, but horrible (imo) for anything that requires sensitivity, depth or sweetness. Lookj elsewhere for refined tone.
