Real all-tube vintage flavor from the original maker.

Channel the ghost of Hendrix with this Marshall Full Stack featuring the 1978XL Vintage series 50W Tube Head with 1960AX/1960BX 100W 4 x 12 Guitar Extension Cabinets.

1987XL Vintage Series 50W Tube Head

The Marshall 1987XL Vintage Series 50W Tube Head gives you all the fabulous tube tone of the original 1987X from the 1966 to 1969 era plus a true bypass series FX loop. 3 ECC83 tubes in the preamp and 2 EL34s in the power section dish out that delicious, nasty overdrive behind Hendrix, Townshend, and scores of other greats. 3-band EQ and presence controls provide all the tweakage necessary to get the most out of this classic screamer.

1960AX and 1960BX 100W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinets

The Marshall 1960X consists of 4 separate birch ply speaker enclosures, each loaded with a Celestion G12M Greenback 12" speaker and has a 100W power handling rating. Tonally this speaker cabinet falls between the 1960A ' s brightness and the 1960TV ' s warmth. Greenback G12M speakers have a very distinctive sound with a fast, snappy response that adds detail and dynamics to both clean and distorted playing. The 1960X Extension Cabinet uses the early ' 70s LC checkered grille cloth and a less-textured vinyl covering. If used as a half stack with a 100W head, a power brake is recommended.

  • Here's your real tone

As reviewed by Bill Wheat on 6/7/2010

If you are after real tone this is what you need. Very warm Tone. I also use a fuzz(old Vintage)stomp box with this. Sounds like Hendrix. This amp will get very loud - I use it when we play the bigger venues.
