The Super Booster bass effect pedal from Markbass brings out the full potential of your axe, by boosting your bass tone with EQ-neutral clarity, while also featuring some signature Markbass filters. The VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) filters out high frequencies to give you a mellower, less modern sound. The VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) boosts lows and highs, and cuts mids: especially great for slap and pick playing. The Markbass Super Booster pedal also gives you a clean Boost, very handy for helping you stand out when taking a solo. This highly practical effects pedal features true bypass and buffered bypass circuitry and also acts as an active DI.
The Markbass Super Booster bass pedal can add pure, EQ-neutral gain ranging from 0dB to 14dB, simply by turning the level boost knob. This feature can be used in any application where you require extra gain—for example, adding a subtle volume boost for a solo. Not only designed for bass, this Markbass pedal can also be used with guitars or any acoustic or electric instruments, in either live or studio applications, thanks to its professional-grade onboard active DI. The Super Booster is not only a simple volume booster; it also features the two trademark Markbass VLE and VPF filters, which allow you to change the character of your sound to suit a wide variety of musical styles.
For many Markbass amp users, the VLE and VPF filters are the only EQ knobs they turn. This bass effect and volume pedal allows anyone to add these two magic filters to their sound.

This thing is absolutely essential in my rig these days. The VLE / VPF knobs simplify EQ to give you stage mix-ready tone in seconds. I was looking at the 102 combo to repalce my current rig but this more than satisfied my hinger for that markbass tone. I just wish it had a seperate on /off for both filters!. For a gigging musician, I need to go between tones often and having those at my feet would make life simpler. I've since found balance on my active EQ on my bass but those filters are pretty different in their intent so I think I may try to mod it to get them separated.
I probably bought this pedal for little different intent, I had about settled on a new Mark Bass rig when I realized that this pedal had the filters! I already have 3-4 great rigs to choose from, all the way from the vintage SVT right down to a sweet 110 Combo. So the last thing I needed was another rig, but, I was interested in the filters and so far on my smaller rigs they give me back a little of that SVT "vintageness". Our percussion player who gets to stand right next to my rig even commented on how much it sounds like the SVT. It has nice overtones in the notes that I miss from an old tube amp and vintage speakers. Not anymore! VLE and VPF will go with me whenever I'm not using the big rig! Awesome construction too by the way! I like the "Knob Bunker" if you can call it that!
This thing was great at doing just what I wanted. I was only just looking for a boost pedal but then I saw this with the filters...I had to get myself one. I play a whole lot of styles of music and i like my sound to be diverse...I think tweeters can be too bright and just speakers aren't bright enough. With my active basses the tweeters sound great but with my passive they are too much. I try to get a geddy lee-ish sound and turning the vle about half way up and adding a touch of the vpf through a limiter and my mesa 400+ I can get the beefiest modern geddy lee esque tone I've heard. Takes all the frequencies that are too high out of the tweeter so it sounds like a really round speaker. When i switch to active i just hit the switch and I have all that high frequency goodness back. Im gonna try to put a demo up online soon.
Wow! What an amazing piece of work. This pedal offers 100% of true "Markbass" tone. It delivers butter smooth lows and crisp highs. The articulation is spot on. The boost is very helpful aid for a solo, as mentioned in the summary mentioned above. If you love the Markbass VLE and VPF EQ knobs on their bassheads this pedal will give your struggling amp a new lease on life.
