Comments about Markbass Standard 102HF Front-Ported Neo 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Hey fellow bassists. If you're thinking of a 2X10 cabinet go for this one over the 102P. You won't be disappointed. I just played an outdoor gig and brought two of these cabinets. To understand its capabilities, I used only one of these for the gig with my Markbass 800w head. It gave me so much more sound than the 102P. What a joy this was. I had more headroom than I thought and the growl I was searching for along with a wonderful smooth tone and deep low end. I am convinced that front porting is the way to go in that there is hardly any "rumble" in the rear section of the stage as with rear ported cabs. Very positive comments from both the crowd and fellow musicians. Can't wait to try them both together and open the full 800 watts. I have tried and currently own almost every Markbass configuration and this is the cabinet that gives me everything I need. Very, very pleased.

Bought this to go with my CMD 210 combo , and WOW ! This rig is a beast ! Didn't need to turn it up past 1/4 and you get more than enough for stage volume . Lightweight like the combo so you can grab and go ! If you have the CMD 210 and need a little more , get this and get a LOT more !

This is not my first MB cab, I own 2 NYC 15s, a Traveler 102P and a 104HR. All MB gear is awesome, they are the new kings of bass cabs IMO. I got the 102HF because as awesome and light and compact as the 104HR is, it was getting to be too much for my aging back. The 102HR is super light (one hand carry)and honestly, I think it sounds better than the 104HR, its produces a more full range sound with a bigger bottom, where the 104HR was more mid heavy and could get muddy, yes I am being picky because you could easily dial it out but I had too many reasons to go smaller and lighter. Not at all disappointed, glad I did. The 102HF with the Traveler 102P stacked vertically is awesome. I put it on top of a NYC 15 and BOOM!! I also use amps that handle 2ohm loads, for big outdoor gigs, the 2-2x10s and the 2-1x15s is enough to shake any building off its foundation! Get this cab, its just all around awesome!

Comments about Markbass Standard 102HF Front-Ported Neo 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I bought this cabinet to go with my Markbass CMD102P combo amp. I needed a little more volume, so I bought this. I wrestled buying this or a 1x12 or 1x15. I am so glad I chose this. It simply adds more volume to everything I love about my combo amp. It will get silly loud, and sounds fantastic. I can put this cab on bottom, with the combo amp on top of it either upright, or tilted back. I could not be more happy with my decision. It makes a 500W 4x10 killer rig. Another great thing is, I can fit these two in my small car with my bass and gear bag. I can't do that with my heavy 4x10 cabinet and head, I have to use my truck or SUV. Great Cabinet!

Comments about Markbass Standard 102HF Front-Ported Neo 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I got the 8 Ohm 102HF (210 cabinet) to match with my CMD 102P Combo. I love the fact that if you stack them sideways (vertical 410), the corners somewhat lock into each other. The cabinet adds considerable thunder to an already pretty powerful 210 combo. Very clear and articulate tone - I have always used an MXR Bass DI between the bass and rig to color the sound, but now I almost have no need for the MXR (other than DI'ing to a board). It's amazing how much punch you get in a lightweight, easily portable cabinet. The only con (for me, that is) is that the Tweeter control is on the side (instead of the back) and when stacked sideways (in the orientation I prefer), you can't get to the dial. I also wish that someone carried this in a store somewhere - I would have loved to try it beforehand. I loved the 102P combo alone, but I love this rig after adding this 102HF even more. I've sold almost every other bass amp I own after getting this.

                    Fantastic Cab!

                    By SCOTT LEWELLEN

Comments about Markbass Standard 102HF Front-Ported Neo 2x10 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I was looking for an extension cab for my new Markbass CMD102P combo to supplement headroom and bottom response. I tried a TRV151P but the sound was not quite what I was looking for. The TRV151P is a great cab, but has a low mid emphasis for a more "old school" tone. I am drawn to the tighter sound of 10" drivers. The TRV102P is super lightweight but only rated to 45Hz, and I was looking for a bit more low-end. This led me to the STD102HF, a front-ported 2x10 cab (like the CMD102P) with a compression horn rather than piezo tweeter. The STD102HF produces plenty of bottom while maintaining the definition and punch of 10 inch drivers. It extended low bass response noticeably over the CMD102P by itself. And the STD102HF seemed to "blend" with the CMD102P seamlessly. When playing from the low register through the high register it produces a smooth cohesive sound with the CMD102P throughout the range. There is little change of tone or "thickening" of the sound in the low register. Neither is there a "thinning" of the tone in the high registers. The CMD102P + STD102HF makes a terrific combination. Bottom line - the STD102HF is a full-range cab with excellent definition. It produces plenty of tight, articulate low bass and smooth clean highs while maintaining the defined mid-range 10 inch drivers are known for. And it sounds great at low, medium, and high volumes. The more I play through mine, the more I like it!
