Comments about Markbass New York 122 Ninja 2x12 Richard Bona Signature Bass Speaker Cabinet:

First off, a little background as looked into purchasing this cabinet. I play with three different bands that do very different styles of music (rock cover, Americana/bluegrass/folk, and Western Swing/classic country). I play both upright bass (using an Underwood pickup) and bass guitar (Warwick Corvette Standard 6-string), sometimes both in the same show. I'm a former Ampeg guy for amps. I used to run an SVT-3 Pro through either a BXT-410HL 4x10" cabinet for big shows and a SVT210AV for small stages/shows. A couple of months back, my SVT-3 Pro head finally gave out after 13 years of solid use. I replaced with with a MarkBass Little Mark 800 Tube head (absolutely love it).

The problem I ran into is that my old SVT210AV wasn't able to keep up with the power of my new MarkBass head. I needed something that was a 2-speaker rig that could handle 800 watts of power for my smaller shows. Enter the MarkBass New York 122 Ninja. Rated at 800 watts RMS @ 8 ohms impedance, I knew that this thing would be able to handle my MarkBass head without any issues. Taking a risk as I could not test one out in my local GC, I ordered one to see how it would work out.

To say I have been blown away by this thing is an understatement. The power of sound coming out of this thing will rattle windows and walls. My old Ampeg 2x10 cabinet wasn't good for too much beyond an on stage monitor with my smaller shows due to a lack of power in the sound. This cabinet is loud enough to punch through my 10-piece horn band! From rumbling lows to clear highs, this cabinet delivers the sound I am looking for from both my bass guitar and upright bass. What is even more impressive is that because this cabinet has an 8 ohm impedance, I can connect it with another 8 ohm cabinet to diversify and fill out my sound even more...

If you need a small and portable cabinet with a lot of power, check this one out. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Markbass New York 122 Ninja 2x12 Richard Bona Signature Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Writing mainly to offset the absurd one star review dragging down the rating of a product deserving better. There are many ways to abuse a speaker cab, so I will not dwell on what may have caused the issue this particular user experienced, especially since there was no indication in the review that said user had performed more than a brief evaluation.

I play bass for a well-known guitar shredder as well as a variety of pop and rock artists, so when replacing my well-used Ampeg rig, power, versatility, and advancements in portability were paramount. I looked at every amp and cabinet combination on the market before deciding on the Ninja head/122 cab.

This cabinet pairs beautifully with the Ninja head in providing a clear, incredibly focused sound that is never harsh, even with the tweeter dimed. It can handle an obscene amount of power and will project without complaint until you've eradicated all local wildlife and evacuated bowels. I try to be conservative with stage volume as I use in-ears, but rest assured, this rig, with only one cabinet, will easily allow you to dominate a dense stage. Adding a second cabinet feels more akin to one or more 8x10 cabs than you might imagine, yet with more low-end definition. It truly must be experienced to be believed, and at half the weight and size of a traditional 4x10, it's practically a no-brainer. I've heard very few lightweight or neo cabinets with an equivalent muscular sound, especially in the sub $1k range.

Comments about Markbass New York 122 Ninja 2x12 Richard Bona Signature Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Great light weight can for the gigging bassist. You can get some great lows and adjust the tweeter for just the right amount of pop in your bass sound. I use a Musicman StingRay 5 and a Sadowsky UV60 and both sound great through this cab with the Markbass Big Bang Head. I'd definitely recommend this.

Comments about Markbass New York 122 Ninja 2x12 Richard Bona Signature Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I have been awaiting to see and hear this cab and just came in to my local Guitar Center. I own 2 Markbass amps and they have been excellent. I tried this cab with the 800 watt Markbass head and a Stingray 5 HH, and Fender Jazz 5. I was seriously intending to buy this cab. The overall tone is pretty dark and when I added not a lot of volume, the speakers just farted out! Very disappointing.
