Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

Amazing sound. I needed a very portable amp for small venues and something light to carry and this was the trick for both. Plenty of power and good resonance without distortion from the single 12"speaker. I now use strictly mark bass amps and speakers because of their quality workmanship and dependability. If you need more direction from this amp, it would be helpful to place on sturdy amp stand. I use it with or without stand and love the sound either way. Depends on where you are playing. In my small church band I place on amp stand..other small room venues , I leave on floor and the bass won't over power small 3 instrument group. Buy one if these if that is what you need. I don't think you can go wrong with mark bass equipment. They have amps and cabinets for every occasion and need. I will soon try their new 300 watt amp head for my next purchase. Hope this has been helpful to future purchasers. Musicians Friend is the best place to get the best deals and financing options. Their staff is knowledgeable and will do everything they can to make your musical purchase a positive decision.

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

These little cabs weigh only 29lbs but pack the punch of a cab weighing three times as much. Lots of bottom end with warmth and clarity in the middle. And they handle a whopping 400W! Easy to carry from gig to gig - I play professionally for a living and probably play 300+ dates/year, so the combination of travel convenience and performance is key where my needs are concerned. I just can't say enough good about these NY 121's. I currently own two and drive them (either individually or together on larger gigs) with a Walter Woods amp and use them with both my electric basses and upright basses with great success. and by the way, these little cabs handle the bottom-end thunder of the low "B" from any five-string bass with great ease. They really deliver!

I use this cabinet on it's own and with a 210 cabinet as well. In both configurations it works well. Not as "thumpy" as a 15, but close. Good sound.
Great portability and form factor, basically it is a cube.

            Amazing Portable Cab

            By IDAN ARIELLY

            from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I got this cab for my GK MB-500. When you live in NYC, you need to have a super portable and loud enough gear. At first I got a GK MBE210, but it was too bulky and hard to carry around so I got the Mark Bass New York 121and what a surprise! This cab sounds so much better than any cab I ever used (GK and Ampeg). It can handle a great deal of volume and it's loud enough to play with a drummer. It has a lot of low end but also it brings out crystal clear high frequencies. It made my Warwick basses shine like I've never heard them before. As for my Fender American standard P bass, It sounded good, but since the P Bass has a more vintage sound I think it didn't benefit from the cab. So definitely if you use an active bass that has beautiful highs you're going to love the New York 121. The size of the cab is great. it's small enough but still looks good on stage. It looks like it weight less than it really is. My only criticism, is that I wish it was a few pound lighter. But don't get me wrong, at 29 lb. it's very easy to carry around. I highly recommend this bass cab to anyone who gigs and have to carry their gear on subways or any public transportation.

Added this to my Markbass CMD121. Light, Powerful, Compact. What's not to like? Ya gotta be careful how ya play, however, 'cause it reproduces everything you do EXACTLY! No mud, no buzz, just clear, pure tone.

Great match for the Mini CMD 121P Combo!

            By David Flowers

            from Chicago, IL

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

I bought this cabinet to go with my Mini CMD 121P Combo Amp. The cabinet gives me more headroom, and the entire setup weighs less than 60 lbs. I have bigger rigs, but it's nice to have a 500w 2x12 stack that is easy to move.

            A gigging musicians dream!

            By Robert Sands

            from Ontario Canada

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

So you love to gig but hate the hassle of carrying all that gear around. Well I found the solution. All you need is one Markbass little mark III and two of these 1x12 cabs and you're good to go. You get wonderful tone, fantastic portability and more than enough wallop for most venue. This setup will allow you to play (without PA support if need be?) any venue holding 300 people or less at a reasonable level (i.e. loud drummer two guitarist etc.) without any problems. Needless to say with PA support, its just awesome!!

Comments about Markbass New York 121 1x12 Bass Cabinet:

This is the first cab I've ever owned with a 12 in it. All that I've heard about 12 cabs is true with this one. This cab has the "boom" of a 15, with the "punch" of a 10. I pair this cab up with Markbass' LM T800 head and it's great when you use it alone, and sounds amazing when paired with a NY 151 cab! This cab is great if you have a gig with a tricky load-in, or where you only bring one cab because you are only allowed a quick setup. I recently down-sized my vehicle so my NY 151 no longer fits in my trunk. This cab solved the problem of when I need to carry a powerful setup but at the same time it all has to fit inside my trunk. Lastly, this cab is as light as the specs say it is. I'm glad I purchased it and I highly recommend it.
