The Markbass Little Mark II is a stunning bass amp head that combines great sound, compact size, and light weight. The Little Mark II is Markbass' biggest seller and it's the flagship amp of the Markbass line. Its small size makes the Little Mark II easy to transport, yet with a 4-band EQ, VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter), its tone is nothing short of professional. The I/O includes an input that can handle both passive and active basses and an extra XLR balanced input for double bass pickups. Its Neutrik Speakon Combo out jacks work with 1/4" or Speakon speaker cables. A tuner out jack sends unbalanced signals to a tuner, amp, or recording equipment. Send and return effect jacks maintain your main signal even if something dies in your effects chain. For 2 years in a row, Little Mark II has been voted Best Bass Head by the readers of Bass Player Magazine. It also placed 3rd in poll's Best Value category.

I've been using the Little Mark II for about a year now, and my impression just keeps improving. I have 2-102P 2x10 cabs that I use with the head. This gives me flexibility to cover any any gig in any room, small or large. I recently played a fund-raiser outdoors, without benefit of a reinforcement system, so I had to crank up the volume, and believe me, for a compact kit, this thing gets LOUD. The tone is perfect for me...I set everything flat (12 o'clock) and get a full balanced sound using just a little of the VLE for a more traditional rhythm-section vibe. I use the DI-out a lot at larger venues. This amp has it all! It sounds good, it's lightweight, and the whole kit fits in the back seat of my Corola.
This unit packs a lot of sound in a VERY small package. Having played bass for over 30 years, I've happily watched bass amps downsize from large, heavy heads to this 5 lb unit. There is no sacrifice in volume, tone or punch---this little baby compares favorably with my old reliable Gallein Krueger 1001 RB as well as other Peavey, Carvin, and SWR amps I've used. It is a great buy.
I have the Little Mark II combined with a Schroeder 410R and the output is simply amazing. If you want to hear your instrument as it was meant to be heard you owe it to yourself to pick up one of these heads and a good cabinet. You will be impressed.
I happen to try this little amp out as my saleperson suggested it.and I own a Markbass Litttle Mark II now.You hear the Tone of the Bass.NOT the Amp. This is the absolute best Jazz amp for sure. But it does everything else pretty darn good to.It has so much versatillity with the VLE/VPF Filters.Effect Loop is great.Even has a little cooling fan so you never have to worry about cooking it.A great value. You have to try Markbass Amps&Cabs.
This amp teamed up with the Markbass Traveler 2x10 cabinet has an amazing sound that trumps all other compact duos. The amp has such a crisp and clean sound with clear highs and pounding lows that its hard to believe that it comes from such a small/light package. When used with the Traveler 2x10, it fills the room and hits you hard right in the chest. If you weren't looking, you might think it was a full stack set-up with a 4x10 and 15 powered by a monster (sized) amp head. This amp is an incredible piece and a great value. Go try one and you won't want to leave.
