Overview

With an 800W digital power amp driving this beast, the Markbass Little Mark 800 bass amp head will satisfy any thirst for power. This high-power head is created for those who need simple, intuitive, and effective controls but also like to have a large supply of power and serious headroom.

A great choice for big-stage applications, and for louder bands, its sound is exceptionally warm and clear, both at low and high volumes. The ultra-fast response of the digital power amp allows the best reproduction of every minute detail in your playing.

The DI output features a pre-post EQ switch and output level control, so you can optimize the bass amp head's signal to the mixer or recording unit. In addition, a bonus XLR balanced input is included for amplifying most double bass microphones or pickups. The Markbass Little Mark 800's small size allows for easy transportation, but its sound is nothing short of professional.

The Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator (VLE) and Variable Preshape Filter (VPF) allow access to a wide array of timbres, from classic tones to modern hi-fi sound. Additional features on this bass amplifier head include four bands of equalization, line out control, and pre-post EQ switch for the XLR line out (on the rear panel).

Small and Mighty

By Garth

from NYC

Comments about Markbass Little Mark 800 Bass Amp Head:

For the weight and mobility this little guy gets a 5 star rating. For the power output it gets 5 stars. I use an EBS 650 as my main head and, although the Little Mark 800 sends the true tone of your bass guitar through the speakers and has some flexibility in tone, it's eq in not ultra tweekable. It's tone is focused and punchy. If your bass sounds good the Markbass good. If your bass sounds great the Markbass sounds great. Speakers are important here. The EBS 650 is also more than twice the the price so a comparison is not apples to apples here. The Markbass' 800 watts is a lot of juice and the tone is clean up to the top. Weight is 6.5 lbs. Silly sweet. HERE'S WHAT YOU MUST HAVE WHEN BUYING A MARKBASS AMP FROM GUITAR CENTER: minimally an extended 2 yr service warranty. This gives you at least 4 yrs of coverage (2 trough Markbass and 2 through GC.) I have a Markbass combo 2x10 that failed recently, just out of warranty. It is a nightmare to repair, with broken English emails coming from the Italian tech team at Markbass. US repair techs scratch their heads. The Italian team at Marbass seem good guys but their is a true language barrier. Save yourself the trouble and get the extended warranty!!! Enjoy the price, 800 watts, tone and weight. ALSO: the LM 800 sounds better than the TUBE 800, which has a muddier overall tone.

XLR Output bad from the factory!!!

By Justin

from Murrysville, Pa.

Comments about Markbass Little Mark 800 Bass Amp Head:

I bought this at my local guitar center and played on this for a little over a month at my practice space with my band. We went to record a demo in the studio and we found the xlr output is bad! The ground is bad even when using the ground lift and other options. The 1/4 output has static in it as well. We used multiple different cables so we know it's the amp! I contacted MarkBass customer service, and a company out of California does their repair/warranty work and they want me to ship it to them for repair. 5 days from Pa to CA via UPS! Plus, one to 2 business days for the repair. So we're looking at a couple of weeks I'm going to be left without a bass amp and I got gigs to play! The features are really basic and I really don't find anything great about the tone this product puts out. I've been playing bass for 5 years with a lot of different setups, and this is by far my worst so far. The amp head is light though which I guess is one positive thing I can say about this.

Little Mark 800

By Billy Reed

from Portland, Oregon

Comments about Markbass Little Mark 800 Bass Amp Head:

Almost the perfect amp ! Clean, punchy & very true sounding. I use it with the Markbass 104HF cabinet and it is a perfect match -no surprise there ! Massive low end without being too fluffy & very balanced mids & highs. The fact that it is very small& light is a huge asset. It sounds great with my Ric, P-bass, Hofner & especially the Jazz Bass. The only thing I don't like about it is that like most modern amps, it has too many knobs/controls.The VLP & VPF controls are an unnecessary annoyance that just leads you down too many "rabbit holes". An amp that sounds this good doesn't need redundant tone controls. Also the pre-amp out level control should be moved to the back of the chassis. Best bang for the buck on the market.

Comments about Markbass Little Mark 800 Bass Amp Head:

Been a bass player for over 40 years and a GK 1001 user for the past 10.
Thought it was about time to lighten my load. Kept the Markbass 800 for 2 days,
and spent about 10 hours attempting to get an acceptable tone.. No comparison..
The Markbass was loud and light, but after trying it with all 6 of my different cabinets, (10's/12's/ and 15's) tone was various shades of cardboard.
Packed it up and sent it back..... GK 1001 weighs 23lbs ...but to a Motown, Disco,
Funk and 70's classic rock player, it's worth every ounce !

    The perfect bass head

    By BRIAN HURST

    from Ohio

Comments about Markbass Little Mark 800 Bass Amp Head:

This amp sounds amazing. Ive had so many compliments over the past year or so that I have owned this head. It has tons of power (I upgraded from the little mark III). It can do ANYTHING you want it to in terms of tone, but it sounds so good without fooling with the VLE and VPF knobs. I just set everything flat and boost my low end to around 2 o'clock, and boom! Paired with an ampeg 6x10 cab, I have a Killer bass rig!

Comments about Markbass Little Mark 800 Bass Amp Head:

I have burned through two of the Mark Bass Heads & if this one burns out I won't order another. I have an Peavey T Max Bass head that has never broken after 12 years and always works but weighs 42 LBS . The mark bass is 6 LBS that's the only reason I have bought 3 of them . If this one quits working like the other one, little mark bass 800 watts only 2 years old used 8 times a month I wont buy another mark bass amp.
