This exciting tube distortion pedal gives you the warm tube crunch that you can only get from tubes. Although the Markbass Distorsore gives you access to a wide range of tones, it always honors the basic character of your instrument by adding tube distortion to the clean sound of your bass. The Gain control, Tube Drive level, and Mix of dry and distorted sounds give you incredible control over how much distortion you create.
Since distorting bass frequencies can seriously muddy your low end sound, Markbass Distorsore pedal features a very practical filter for bass in the High Pass. It allows you to only distort the high frequencies. This keeps your sound tight and focused, no matter how distorted you get. As you turn this knob up, a wider range of low frequencies is kept clean, so you are only distorting the high frequencies and keeping your bottom end full and tight. This produces rich harmonics and exciting distortion, but every note remains distinct and focused and the natural tone of your instrument still shines through. The Low Pass filter gives you a much darker distortion sound.
Like all Markbass pedals, the Distorsore features true bypass, which means that when the distortion is off, your signal goes directly from the input jack to the output jack without any degradation of audio quality.

This was probably the weakest sounding distortion pedal I've ever tried to incorporate. The filter and mix options are ok but the tube is nothing but a worthless novelty. It is built tough but then again it should be for the price. The true bypass by far is the best option because the couple gigs I used it, it sounded better when it was off. Remember...this is just my opinion but if you purchase this (and their a bit pricy too) try to get a gig in or so before you decide to keep it or not.
This is my second Mark bass pedal, and I love what they do for my tone. It may take time to find what you are looking but their are many options. From a RATM distorted bass sound to a primus dirty overdrive you can find it in the pedal. Once you get the hang of what the high and low pass do for your tone, it becomes a bite easier to dial in what you are looking for. The pedal also offers a nice way to fatten your tone up to cut thru a mix in soloing or heavier sections. Thank you Mark Bass for the amazing tool.
Features: True Bypass, nice compression, extremely flexible controls,Low pass/High pass filters. This unit is easy to get a great sound with anything from a mild tube growl to full out fuzz. Using this with my solid state highpower amp adds the edge to my sound. The unit is not cheap, but the tonal flexibility is worth it to me. The unit is very well built. Time will tell how reliable it is, but at first blush this will last me years. Try the other devices out there but before you buy try the Distorsore--you'll see what I'm talking about.
