Compressore is no mere stomp box—it's a state-of-the-art compression tool.

Markbass Compressore is a high-quality tube compressor pedal that features all the individual controls normally found on professional studio outboard compressors: gain, threshold, ratio, attack, release and volume. Not only designed for bass, this Markbass pedal can also be used with guitars or any acoustic or electric instruments, in either live or studio applications, thanks to its state-of-the-art component quality. The bass pedal's ECC 81 tube compresses your signal, evening out the sharp peaks of your playing in a natural, transparent way. At the same time, it also adds warmth and harmonics to your sound. Like all Markbass pedals, this one features "true bypass." So when the compressor is off, your signal goes directly from the input jack to the output jack without any degradation of audio quality.

While some compressor pedals offer individual control of nearly all compression parameters, the controls on most comp boxes adjust two simultaneously, and some only have a single "compression" knob. The Markbass Compressore features all the individual controls you would normally find on professional studio outboard compressors.

  • Smooth Warm, and Buttery, not Cheap Margarine !

As reviewed by Bluto Dirkschneider on 1/21/2011

This is by far the best compressor I've ever used, I've ran without compression for years, (Except when recording), because in past experiences with other Models, compression always seemed to Muddy up the tone, Killed the Highs, and no matter how I set it, it would Pump, and choke, This Markbass Tube Compressore, is Sweeet ! it didn't degrade the Tone, it actually gave it a nice boost, and playing with a Pick is to die for, Pick or Finderstyle, it's Warm, Punchy, Fat, and immediately my Bandmates were extremely Happy I boought it because I like to play LOUD, It Rolls off the Harsh sounds when Popping, Plucking, Picking, Thumping, brought the sound into the Mix when I play light, and brought it down ever so slightly when I get after it, It made my sound more Musical and pleasing, My Effects sounded wonderfull, This pedal does NOTHING Negetive, I've used it through 8 different Amp setups so far, and every One of them Loved it, and in Stereo, it's Heaven ! I've been waiting a long time for a product like this to come along, the tube makes this thing sing, BUY IT, You Wont be dissapointed I promise ......

  • Nice front end for my SD800

As reviewed by Mike on 3/1/2011

So I went to GC ready to trade in my MarkBass SD800 for the new Little Mark Tube 800 because I liked the idea of bit of added warmth. I had the two hooked up side by side and was leaning hard toward the LM Tube 800. As a last resort, I thought I would try the MarkBass Compressore pedal as I read it would warm up the sound a bit even at low compression. Indeed it well as bring my slap and fingerstyle closer in volume. I adjusted the settings to lightly compress when hitting a hard low B or going to heavy slap. Granted the SD800/Compressore pairing doesn't quite have the portability of the LM 800 tube, but I much preferred the sound and feel. I didn't mind saving a few hundred $ either :) I wouldn't say the SD800/Compressore combo has the warm tube sound of a Mesa/Boogie or Eden (I've owned both of those), but it does deliver a slightly warmer-than-SD800 sound with more clarity and definition. I will probably always leave the pedal turned on. Set correctly, it still allows the dynamics of your playing to shine through. Definitely no added noise.
