The Markbass CMD 121H is a bass combo amplifier that delivers incredible, professional-quality sound in a compact, easy-to-manage package. Less than 2' wide or tall, and under 40 pounds, the CMD 121H provides an amazingly large amount of power with its 12" B&C woofer with a 1" compression driver with custom horn. This is due in part to the excellent design of the speaker, and the way the cabinet was built to protect the integrity of your sound.
But the CMD121H amps's sound is also increased by the built-in presence of the Little Mark II solid state preamp. It gives you a 4-band EQ, Markbass' own VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) filters, and the ability to hook up to an extension cab for even more room-filling sound.

This amp is the best investment that I have ever made for my bass playing. I play upright, electric upright, and electric bass and this is the only amp that I have found able to handle them all equally well. The amp is great because I can actually carry all my gear in one trip! Electric bass in one hand, upright on my back and the amp in the other hand. This amp seems much more focused when on an amp stand and I've discovered that the amp has a "sweet spot" with the gain knob set at 3/4 of the way up. and This amp is incredibly warm and articulate on upright and electric upright with the vpf on 3/4 of the way. The direct out on this is also great. It retains warmth when recording and is very low noise. My only complaint about the amp is that the carpeting attracts dirt and hair. But that aside, Great Amp!
I use this with my Modulus Quantum 5, and the tone is massive. I've had several people take 'double takes' when they hear what's coming out of this thing. It's amazing, versatile, has a built in DI, and has been just about perfect for me. I couldn't recommend it any higher.
This little combo does well with a small venue. When paired with a big band or a larger group it tends to be a little thin. I play electric bass and do not know if it will project with an acoustic bass better. My opinion is that it is a great rehearsal and small group piece but will need another cab to round it out.
