  • great performance not a lot of features

As reviewed by cajon carl on 7/31/2008

I bought this unit to record 2 piece guitar and percussion at gigs. The recording quality is great even with the built in mics (the condensor mics do pick up crowd noise quite a bit) recording off the mixer is great just set the input level and rocknroll.multitrack and effects would be nice but thats not what I was getting this for anyway.

  • This recorder has been working great for over a year....

As reviewed by Gus on 5/12/2009

I have owned the Marantz PMD620 for over a year now and have not had any major problems with it. While most of my friends went for the Edirol I found in my research that the Marantz had less limitations for what I needed. I am a music teacher and weekend musician and my wife sings with church and a local band. We use the recorder about every day. From rehearsals to concerts or anytime we need to have something archived in audio format. No issues with type of SD cards (I use a 16GB and have used sandisk & transcend)or batteries. Wonderful recordings with very clear/clean audio.I am looking into the new Marantz PMD661 with xlr inputs...
