Ordered this clamp from GC, after waiting for two months for my local shop to get this in for me. I was a bit disappointed, initially, to find that the standard stands that are in use from Mapex, are too small diameter to accommodate easily. My first attempt to use it was by using electrical tape around the portion that I was attaching it to. It held it fine, but was there was some slight wiggle to it. So, I drilled out the rivet holding the legs to the stand, removed the legs, and put the clamp on just under the first extension joint. Then I used a new screw and nylon washer to re-attach the legs. The stand does not fold completely compact, but very close. Now, it's exactly where I need it...holding two single tom mounts. Sturdy clamp, made well. Time will be the final verdict. Worth the investment!
