Excellent classical guitar

By OKC

from OKC

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Model D Cedar Classical Guitar:

As a long time electric player, I just got into classical. I didn't want to spend a ton of money, but the first thing I did on my search was to go to the local guitar stores and play the most expensive classical guitars ($3-5000) I could find. Once I learned what those were about, I set out to find a guitar I could afford that sounded close to those. Happened to bump into this guitar at the local Guitar Center. It was damaged so I got a killer deal on it. However, what got me was that it sounded very close to guitars in the $3-5000 range. It buried every other guitar I played in the under $1500 range which sounded tiny in comparison. Only complaint I have is it's not as easy to play as those expensive guitars (very well could be my inexperience with playing and setup/stock springs) but the tone is deep and rich and precisely what I was looking for. VERY happy with this guitar.

Pleasure to play

By Norman Jasmund

from Lansing, MI.

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Model D Cedar Classical Guitar:

I've been looking at the MR model "D" guitar for awhile. I am impressed with the playability, projection and expression this guitar has... The laminate back and sides rosewood is exquisite. One would think of playing a much more expensive guitar. The guitar rings with tone up and down the fret board. The sale price made me cross the threshold. It is a lot of guitar for the money. I could not find anything new or used that gave me the guitar features for the money. To me, this guitar is a wise investment.

First impressions - purchased 12/4/10

By Steve

from Zionsville, IN

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Model D Cedar Classical Guitar:

I bought the Rodriguez Model D on 12/4/10. Although the sides are rosewood LAMINATE, I still find the sound to be quite exquisite. I fell in love with "the tone the second I played it at Guitar Center and I still love playing it at home. It has excellent action, is quite comfortable and I appreciate the fact that it's handcrafted. The only complaint is that I'd expect better "fit & finish" from a $1,000 guitar. They got a little sloppy with the glue where body meets neck - I probably would have made a stink about it at the store but they were running a 20% weekend sale and, again, I loved the sound. Laminate sides & back on a $1,000 guitar also seems lame but I don't dog it because the sound is still awesome. I don't know why anyone would spend more for a guitar if the priority is sound.
