Overview

Featuring a carefully chosen, solid Canadian cedar top and laminated bubinga back and sides, the Caballero 11 classical guitar is a beauty to behold and play. The headstock and fretboard are made of Indian rosewood. Nickel-plated tuners and Silver-plated frets are installed to last a lifetime. The body binding and wood rosette are exquisite.

The Rodriguez Guitar is hand crafted and glued to create precise balances. From the invisible careful sanding, even inside the body, that ensures the finished instrument's purity of tone, to the beautifully unique rosette inlays around the soundhole and on the back of the neck, each guitar is a credit to its luthier and worthy of being handed down from one generation to another.

The tone, resonance and beauty of fine guitars are all dependent upon the wood from which they are made. The wood used in the construction of Rodriguez guitars is carefully chosen and aged to guarantee the highest quality. No wood is purchased before the tree has been cut down, and at least 2 years must elapse before the tree is turned into lumber. The wood has to be well cut from the log. The grain must be close and absolutely vertical. The shop is totally free from humidity.

The Rodriguez Caballero 11 guitar features a multi-colored wood rosette, as exquisite as the sounds that issue from it. Their intricacy and beauty signify the attention to detail that characterizes every Rodriguez guitar.

The Caballero 11 is everything I expected and more !! I just got mine in a couple of weeks ago and I look forwrd to picking it up every night to play. It is amazing looking and feels great with with it's super smooth and shiny finish. The grain of the bubinga is beautiful. This is an incredible value for an excellent Spanish made guitar. The are no flaws on the finish - it is perfect - a wonderful surprise I did not expect is that the headstock has MR inlayed in pearl on it. It looks fantastic !! The neck profile is perfect to play with - it is very smooth and pleasure to play.... definate must buy - I would prefer this to the other more expensive models and brands I tested in the store. I can't get over getting a nice exotic wood and look in such a great performing guitar at a low price !!! enjoy.

Nice guitar, but the rave reviews led to disappointment

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I was all set to buy this guitar after reading the rave reviews. I took my cheapest classical with me so I could have a comparison... a low-end Guild Madeira C600 (made in Japan about 40 years ago) with laminated top. While I would agree with many of the comments that this was the best value under $1000, I guess my biggest disappointment is that I didn't think any of the classicals at or below $1000 were better sounding and playing than the Guild ... so, in that sense I was really disappointed. Unlike SS Acoustics, I think I've come to conclude that really good sounding classical guitars are not to be had under $1500. That doesn't mean that there aren't "good" ones, but not "really" good ones. I'm surprised since acoustics have gotten really good in the low price range. Different market, apparently. So, anyway, I'm sticking with my Guild classical on the low end.

      An Absolutely Gorgeous Guitar!!!

      By Eddie Rodriguez

      from Hackensack, NJ

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I wanted a Spanish made classical guitar. The Caballero 11 was recommended by Joe Gonzalez from the Guitar Center Call Center near Salt Lake City Utah. He also suggested I visit Manuel Rodriguez Guitars website for more information. Upon viewing the mfg. website I noticed it listed a phone number. I called them and was surprised that Mr. Manuel Rodriguez Jr. answered the phone himself and took the time to answer all my questions. He highly recommended the Caballero 11 and assured me that I would not be dissapointed. He further stated that although the Caballero 11 was assembled in China all the parts and materials originated in Spain and is hand crafted and assembled under the supervision of his team. That was enough for me, I purchased it immmediately sight unseen. When the guitar arrived I opened the box the next day at the recommendation of Joe from Guitar center. My curiosity was getting the best of me. Upon opening the box I was floored. The craftsmanship put into this guitar is outstanding. The finish, the cedar top and bubinga back & sides are absolutely beautiful. After tuning the strings several times and allowing the strings to stretch, the tones are heavenly. Forget that it has a sticker that says made in China! If that bothers you, remove it! You would never know! I love my Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11. Thank you Joe, thank you Mr. Rodriguez.

      Simply amazing

      By Michael Neinast

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I had originally purchased a cutaway acoustic/electric Lucero model for an entry level guitar. After going through two guitars in about 4 days because of constant fret/string buzz from BOTH guitars (which were both fresh out of the box), I looked up classical guitars again online and found this gem. It was $100 more, but the monetary value is far outranked by the quality value between these two guitars. Whether you're a beginner to the classical side of guitar like me, or a seasoned vet, I would HIGHLY recommend this guitar as it is handcrafted (in China, yes, but handcrafted is handcrafted), and has beautiful wood that reverberates with a lovely sound (not to mention is aesthetically beautiful).

An Amazing Value/ An Amazing guitar !!!

      By Robert Cocktosen

      from Long Island, NY

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

Quite simply, this is the best pound-for-pound value in classical guitars out there. I compared it to almost all the others in the store priced under $1,000 and it put most of them to shame. The only one comparable was a Kremona that costs about twice as much. I cannot say enough about this guitar's beauty, craftsmanship, and full, bright tone. I am over the moon about this guitar.

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

This is a great sounding guitar, loverly tone and nice low action. The finish is amazing! The only thing is that I was led to believe it was made in Spain, so it was anoying when I got it and seen the made in China sticker on back of neck! But it is still worth the 5 stars!

Great guitar, but not from Spain!!

      By Stephen

      from Fullerton, CA

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

Great sounding guitar, lovely finish and great action. Only thing I was disappointed about was being told that it was made in Spain and finding the (Made in China) sticker on the back of the neck. It must be all the higher end models that are made in Spain. Apart from that I have no regrets about this guitar and give it a full 5 stars!!

      Spain has moved to China...?

      By Elle

      from San Diego, CA

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez Caballero 11 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I was very excited about this guitar because I wanted an original Spanish one that was also in my price range. I had heard, and previously read, that this guitar was fantastic and made in Spain, so as you can imagine I was looking forward to buy one. However, my expectations were soon trumped when, as Brian has already said, I turned over my new guitar and I spotted the all-too-familiar tiny gold label with bald letters "MADE IN CHINA." Having said that, the guitar has a beautiful sound, but I'm just disappointed that it isn't made in Spain as I originally thought, and told, it was. To conclude, it is a god guitar, but slightly too expensive for another product made in China, even if it is made with Brazilian and Indian Rosewood.
