Great for band

By

from Orange County, CA

Comments about Mackie SRM450 v2 Active PA Loudspeaker:

My band got a pair in 2009 and used them as our main PA speakers for both indoor and outdoor gigs, and sometimes rehearsals. Plenty of power, since we never had them all the way up, and always sound crystal-clear. They are still going strong. Excellent speaker!

Can't believe the power and clarity

By

from Punta Gorda Fl.

Comments about Mackie SRM450 v2 Active PA Loudspeaker:

These are the best speakers I have ever used. The quality of sound is the best. Used these speakers outdoors and had no problem having everyone hear clearly and we didn't have them turned up all the way. Another member of the group has these speakers so I knew in advance how great they sounded.

Great update of a classic piece of gear

By

from Everett WA

Comments about Mackie SRM450 v2 Active PA Loudspeaker:

Having read dozens of reviews about the new V.2's I decided to buy one just to see what's up. That was a year ago and I Just bought another one. I have a couple of pairs of original Italian versions. I set the originals up right next to the New V.2 side by side. I listened to each speaker up close and personal and I can tell you that there is very little audible difference between the two. The differences are so slight that it's not even worth mentioning. And just for the record, I have done over 800 events with the original 450's and NEVER experienced a thermal (which seems to be the main gripe). I love these new V.2's and I'll be buying more. I love the new reduced weight and the Blue color does not bother me at all. I'm still a Mackie fan. Having owned the original's I have no complaints with the new v.2's and at least for me it's a good update of an old standard.

Best Non Wood Speakers You're Going to Find

By

from Jacksonville, FL

Comments about Mackie SRM450 v2 Active PA Loudspeaker:

Ok first off, these things are LOUD. Like get the cops called loud. The knob on the back to the right, will directly affect levels, so keep that tame until you know where you're at. Obviously they aren't wood, the bass response is NOT going to be what you'd expect, especially compared to how powerful the tweeters are. Get two of these, and a 1501 sub or 2, use the built in crossover, and you'll sound better than 90% of any venues...
