If higher output and floor-pounding authority is what you're looking for, this 3-way, professional active speaker should be at the top of your list. 500W power is split up 3 ways between the low (300W), midrange (100W), and high (100W) frequencies. The result is full, detailed sound in a sturdy Baltic birch cabinet that features the WaveFront wide-dispersion horn. The Mackie SR1530z speaker comes with an integrated active crossover, accurate electronic time correction, phase alignment, and EQ. Best of all, it's just as easy to use and sounds just as spectacular as the rest of Mackie's active speakers, with linear response from 40Hz to 20kHz at high SPLs.

There are very few cons about these speakers, but I'll lay them out first: They are big and heavy at 111 lbs, as in buy a hand truck. They do not have mixer controls on the back, not even volume. That's it for the cons tho. You will not be dissapointed in these. They can rock for hours, even outside on a hot day. For most applications, you will not need to pair them with a subwoofer. The sound is pristine due to the built in processing and the 3-way design. Walk into a GC and listen to some rock through one of these and compare it to any 2 way speaker (ask for the mixer to be plugged directly into the speakers, bypassing their maximizers, compressors, etc). It's not even close. They have a warm sound you don't hear too ofen. They are extremely reliable. I can't even imagine how many gigs these have been on, but I'd say at least 300. I've cranked these and have never seen the clip lights turn on, ever. These are definately the best purchase I have ever made in terms of DJ Gear.
We got a couple of these speakers for our Church two years ago. We haven't had any problems with them so far. They sound crisp and clear and they also look good. I love them! They are a bit heavy to carry around though...
These are simply amazing speakers - I owned Passive, but after using these Mackie Powered versions, I would never go back to Passive - Quick and simple setup - and the sound clarity is simply awesome...!! Sharp higs, distinct mids and the low-end punch is very clear and not muddy. The 3-way option is a great way to go for a small-to-medium gig - where you can get away with these and not have a Sub. Overall, the Quality is Awesome....and these bad boys can run for hours!!! I have tried other reputed brands as well - but Mackies knocks all off!!! I am now on for their Big brothers - the SA series - with 1300 Watts of Punch.........!!!! 5 Stars and keep up MACKIE!!
I own a pair of the Mackie SR1530z's, these speakers have impressed me time and time again. First, they're time savers in setup. Unfortunately, i setup weekly at least 3-6 times. I've run bass, keys, synths, drums, percussion and vocals all together, ive had nothing but compliments. The highs are clear, clean and crisp, the mids are strong, and the lows...lets just say that i use to run a separate bass amp until i got these, plus the kick sounds great on them also. They also have great room coverage. We had been using FOH speakers, monitors, keys and bass amps before, ive replaced all 7 speakers with 2 SR1530z's, now the sound seems to fill the room, what a difference!!. Thats why i say, "once you go mackie, you wont go back". I would recommend the Mackie SR1530z's to anyone. Only 2 pitfalls, they should be handled with 2 people cause they're too heavy for 1 person alone and secondly, the led light seems to work one day and turn off the next. But overall quality and performance...they still surpass my expectations everytime...
