Fully professional and gig-ready.

Mackie's 8-channel ProFX8 Compact Mixer with integrated effects is the complete and simple solution for small to mid-size performance venues. 4 Mackie low-noise, high-headroom mic preamps ensure pristine signal while LED dual 7-band graphic EQs, and EQ metering and 60mm faders on each channel keep levels in check. Sweeten the mix using the 3-band active EQ and integrated RMFX 32-bit processor, which offers an arsenal of "Gig-Ready" effects. The mixer easily tunes mains and monitors with 7-band stereo graphic EQ and captures the mix or can stream house music from a laptop using the built-in USB I/O. Protective ABS side panels encase the Mackie ProFX8 mixer's already rugged solid steel chassis. It also includes a free copy of Tracktion 3 Music Production Software.

  • Nice for starters.

As reviewed by Henry on 3/21/2011

I was looking for something that would be a good entry level mixer with USB recording capabilities. I found it. The sound is amazing, There is no manual as Mackie is trying to minimize it's environmental footprint, but there is plenty of PDF resources on the Mackie Website, this is important if you are like myself and starting out. The Tracktion software is easy to install and easy to operate, within minutes I was going through the menu's and making some basic recordings, Mic and Guitar....Eventually I will upgrade, the need for more channels will come further down the road. I would not hesitate to buy another Mackie product. It is as described, tough as a tank, and the components are quality, nothing cheap looking about this unit.

  • What an awesome upgrade. Superb sound and features.

As reviewed by Psychedelicious on 11/24/2008

WOW! That was my first thought when I first heard the ProFX. Mackie leaps into the future with an awesomely well-integrated USB audio interface. The big news here is the sound quality which is a huge step up from my previous Mackie board and M-Audio recording interface (fast track ultra). Stereo imaging is enhanced, bass is so tight, highs sound razor-sharp. Best of all the USB interface creates zero background noise, a problem with all analog mixing boards. I am blown away,

  • Major Upset

As reviewed by Grant Kuhnsman on 3/28/2011

For the price point it certainly has a lot of features, multiple i/o, USB, effects, etc. Replacing our previous SoundCraft mixer with this unit, channel 2 had a noticeable hum, and moreover, channel 3/4 was dead on arrival. To further the Mackie upset, when finally hoping for something via the USB use, there is considerable hum present when using any signal via USB. The unit was isolated as our previous soundCraft model worked without any hum or problems using the same inputs. Used to love Mackie but the brand isn't what it used to be when I learned how to play guitar. Let it be known that after contacting Mackie, they are aware of the issue on the ProFX8 and were far too calm about saying that there is nothing they could do.
