  • Worth the low price - USB noise fix posted as well

As reviewed by Chris Ellison on 11/9/2012

First of all the USB noise is most likely due to having a B00 Rev of the board. If you happen to have the issue simply pick up the phoen and call Mackie. They will run you through your personl setu to ensure your setup is correct and if so they will replace your board with rev# c01. All in all it's a great mixer for an entry level mixer or small on stage mixer for the drummer. Some might argue me calling it an entry level, but there's some very useful features that are not on it but I still rate it a 5. Really for this kind of money what can a person really expect for fatures? If you're on a limited budget, need some nice vocal effects do not hesitate to buy this product. Very well built, clean string inputs and outputs. Very happy with it over all.

  • My second one, I like them.

As reviewed by Mark Center on 3/27/2013

I use this for live music and in my DJ and KJ rig. I could use more channels but, size and weight are important so this fits me okay. The first one I had, while unplugging an active acoustic guitar, blew something in Ch 1 Hi-Z channel. Couldn't be fixed in a cost effective manner. Sold the until to pay for half of the new one. I will now turn all volumes to zero before unplugging or plugging in a guitar. The on board effects are amazing. If you want to use more effects, you can hook up more using the Effects out, Stereo in and mix those in with the board effects; the outboard effects do no defeat the on-board effects, very nice. I gave it 4 stars because I haven't tried recording with this unit. For live mixing, this is a great mixer. NOTE: No rack mounting options. I made up some large L-brackets that the unit sits in, a little Vecro on the bottom side of the unit and bingo, the unit sits snug and still pops out of the top of the rack with a slight tug.

  • Workhorse

As reviewed by Matt Phillips on 8/20/2013

I've been using my ProFX12 for live acoustic shows and recordings for several years now. I'm not sure what some of the users are complaining about with noisy recordings or whatever, as my mixer has been a solid workhorse since day one, and has never caused me fits on the road or in the studio. Built in FX and USB make this a serious all-in-one mixer, and the difference between the Mackie preamps/general audio quality versus everything else I've listened to over the years has made me a very happy owner.
