I've had a lot of experience running Mackie equipment. They put out amazing boards that are a little spendy but still on the cheaper side of the real high end equipment.
Plus they tend to retain their value as long as you don't smear peanut butter all over them.
I used this board to help record a small band play a live show in a club recently. The firewire feature is pretty cool. I sent a feed from the board to my laptop and recorded a few tracks on Garageband and was able to give them a rough CD with a few tracks by the end of the night.
I've recently switched over to this device from my behringer xenyx sound board, this one has much more sensitivity in sound parameters, and the overall sound quality is pretty amazing to say the least. The Phantom power supply is also very handy, and the fact I no longer have a time delay while recording is even sweeter. On the old USB 2 there was about a .5 second delay which was a real pain trying to synch my voice to video feeds. This is why I went this route. Very nice product.
this is a great mixing board. its a great practice mixing board enough for couple mics and piano so i recomend it and its affordable it also has 4aux which is great too and yhu can connect to another mixer so its a very nice mixing board you can use it for anything yhu would like
