Holy Bejesus

the Mackie FR2500 hooked it up and as soon as we played our first song we were all picking our jaws from the floor! The power this thing puts out is nothing short of amazing. Loved it so much I went and bought another AND the FR800 to run our monitors. Why so much power, we play about 10 outdoor shows a year and we want everyone to hear us! And they do. Great buy I would recommend them to any and every one!

Awesome, clean, powerful

Clean and powerful. I just ran a 3 hour concert with one of these, pushing two full-range cabs on each side. I had the amps turned up about 75%, and I could still make it far too loud in the room, which was a small (150 seat) theater. At the end of the gig, the amp had been powered up for a total of about six hours, and ran for a sound-check/rehearsal, as well as the show. It wasn't even warm! The only negative is that, even though Mackie claims you can run as low as 2 ohms per side, the amp really doesn't want to do it.

Excellent value for the price!

I was looking for an amp with 500 plus watts/ch at 8 ohms that would meet my budget to drive a pair of JBL JRS 115's. Wow! What a clean sound with plenty of reserve! 575 watts/ch at 8 ohms. The other Dj's that work the rotation schedule at the club noticed an immediate difference in the sound compared to a Technical HI-FI Blue Ice Amp I had been using.Even the people in the club said it sounded great! Going to purchase another Mackie FR-2500 and bridge both and run one for each channel at 1500 watts/ch at 8 ohms.I run the sub(JBL 118) with a crown XTI 1000 bridged at 1400 watts at 4 ohms.May change XTI 1000 for a third Mackie FR-2500 bridged which would put out 2500w/at 4 ohms. Great value for the money!!!

The Mighty Mackie!

I just purchased this amp and man was it worth it. I am a mobile DJ and I don't need to carry 3-4 amps to a gig. I use the Mackie 2500 for the 2 tops and run my self-powerd sub through my Rane TTM56. So, far it gets the job done. I would recommend this amp to anybody.

WORTH EVERY DOLLAR $$$$$

I recently bought two of these FR-2500 Mackie amps and they are worth every penny. I swapped my older QSC MX1500a amps (325/channel @ 8 Ohms), and these Mackies far outperform the QSCs by 2.5 times. You can't get better sound for the money; this is every DJs dream amp; it simply rocks and it shows time after time again. I've been a DJ since 1984 and I simply play at home now; however, that doesn't stop me from buying great equipment, after all, music is endless. I was skeptical at first, but then I went for the FR-2500 and I haven't had any regrets, except not having changed earlier..... TO ALL DJs - BUY THESE AMPS! THEY MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOUND PERFORMANCE, VALUE AND OVERALL COST. THIS IS A VERY WELL KEPT SECRET - LET'S SHARE IN THE WEALTH. I strongly recommend the FR-2500 for any sound reenforcement project. The lows sound awesome and the highs are crips and clean.... Jose Alfonso :)
