  • Good pedal

As reviewed by Rob Moitoza.net on 6/21/2010

This pedal works really well, mainly because of the amount of versatility it gives you. Having blend knobs for the wet and dry signals really helps for a bass player as one of our complaints was that it took away too much bottom. Much like the Q-tron and others, the pedal is very touch sensitive, so it has to be adjusted before each gig as it depends a lot on how you have your amp EQ set. All of the new pedals, including this one have quite a strong spike on the front edge... unlike the Boss T-wah, which didn't have that. The newer components don't sound the same, but, then, the T-Wah doesn't do nearly as much as this pedal. I'd say this one is the most versatile envelope filter I've tried. I'd recommend it as long as you don't mind adjusting it each time you play.

  • Good Envelope filter

As reviewed by AndyP on 4/9/2010

This is a good pedal to have in your arsenal, probably not a good first. I love the sound of this coupled with either a fuzz, bass octave (M288), ring mod, LPF, etc. The separate fx and dry blend knobs are key, especially if you want that filter wide open, just accentuating the upper frequency response with the Q down. This stomp box can be labled as a "one trick pony" because an envelope filter is a very distict sound. However I rarely turn the Q up past 25% and use it more as a treble booster that sounds "wet." For a live drum and bass act, making subltle changes to the sound of the bass is what its all about, at least for me. By itself I think it sounds like a great envelope, I just wish it had a sweep up/down select. There is an accurate video review on the M82 on Youtube by Uriah Duffy.

  • Rad Filter

As reviewed by Nick on 12/1/2010

This is one awesome effect pedal. My favorite aspect is its total versatility. I can use just a little wah in most band settings, or crank it up for some spacey funk. This thing really responds well to your own playing dynamics, with the sensitivity knob. And of course (most importantly), it retains the low end very well; you can still get booming lows and still have the wah effect layered on top.
