The MXR M77 Custom Modified Badass Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal is a classic overdrive circuit with modern modifications for improved performance and versatility.

For added flexibility, there's a 100HZ cut and boost control that allows for a more focused EQ when cut, or a beefier tone when boosted. The Bump switch engages an alternate EQ voicing that boosts the lows and mids. Put it in front of the '78 Custom Badass Distortion for a slew of amp-like gain structures that won't mask your tone.

    Last weekend I went into GC with the intention to check this thing out. I'm glad I did!! I've been playing 70's, 80's and 90's cover tunes using my TS-9 or Radial Engineering Hot British. The TS-9 just didn't quite get me there and the HB would take me way over the top. It's way too intense for playing hard rock. Thats where this bad boy comes in to play. I can tone it down to get me close to the TS-9 or I can turn up the drive for a nice crunch. Solos sound great with the TS-9 pushing this thing too. It doesn't get too saturated. Just a nice boost. Needless to say that I replaced Hot British on my board with this. The MXR and the TS-9 give me all I need for hard rock to some of the lighter metal. So if your in the market for a new overdrive, you've got to give this one a try. Luckily for me this was the last one in the store. They're going fast.....

  • Slay that Dragon!

    I've been chasing the OD dragon a LONG, LONG TIME, and now I have finally nailed it with this pedal. It is very transparent, smooth and biting at the same time. The bump feature preserves the low end without muddying up the tone. It is very much the Egg McMuffin of overdrives. MXR was very smart encasing it in gold, because that is what the tone is, pure gold! Buy the Pro-Coverage on it, because if anything silly happens to it, you will want a new one! IT IS THAT GOOD!

  • Purely Awesome

    I dont even know how to start, its just great! I needed something that can be mild & heavy when the demand came, and this DELIVERS & then some! You can hear every individual note you hit clearly withought fuzzing or fading, true bypass, the "Bump" literally bumps up what your playing, & its just great! Get it! I compaired it to the OCD & its not a bad pedal, believe me its good too, but this MXR hooked me instantly!
