The MXR M-135 Smart Gate Pedal has 3 selectable types of noise reduction: Hiss, Mid, and Full. Bites down on hiss and hum but lets all of your music shine through. Intelligent design provides dual high and low adaptive filters, opens at lightning speed, introduces no extra distortion, and lets you control the sensitivity of the gate's threshold. Hardwire bypass with footswitch and slim, tough stompbox housing.

Cuts the noise, Keeps the tone!!!

I bought the Super Gate online from GC. It took a week to get here and showed up in perfect condition. I play out of a pretty loud/ noisy amp. Also I have a pretty long chain of effects pedals and a high output DiMarzio humbucker in my bridge. Not only did the Super Gate cut the unwanted hiss and feedback from all my equipment it still allowed my effects to cut through cleaner than ive heard before. Also since I have less noise when im not playing I was able to change my tone up (fine tune it!) a little bit so I can cut through a little more when im playing live. Oh and last cool thing is that when you order it online you get the new silver casing with the Phase 90 script on it. All in all I would recommend this to any guitarist that needs a noise gate.

Amazing little box Noise Cutter!!!

I bought this box after having problems with the Boss NS-2 Noise suppresor..very confusing to use..the MXR smart gate is genius...especially cutting all the noise and not cutting any of the sustain or delay, reverb...plus you can set it to which frequencies you want it to cut off or all of them....I also like the fact that if have it all the way up and it's not cutting everyting out? Hit the high trigger mode button and you have a high power gate...I run mine right into my amp after the last effect in my pedal board..I don't even have it on my pedalboard. I have it mounted right on top of my amp....it's metal construction and durability is rock solid...MXR has done it again with their genius of noise reduction...

Noise Terminator

I bought this pedal around Christmas time, and I have been happy with its performance since. When I play gigs, my amp gives loud feedback when I turn it up. My distortion pedal also augments this. However, I just turned this pedal on and boom, clear sound. Great pedal for the money.

Surprisingly intelligent pedal

The active sensors in this pedal are phenomenal. They permit all those frequencies you employ while you play, allowing for resonance, harmonics, etc. while still limiting background noise. At first I was reluctant to buy into the theory that this pedal would help, but for recording and live play it makes an enormous difference. It preserves my overdrive even on the bass without dulling clarity, tone or presence but drastically limits the background fuzz and hum. The adjustable sensitivity allows you to selectively use it to permit or inhibit the sounds you would otherwise desire/expect from your other effects. The guitarist in my band, once he heard how effective it was in recording, immediately decided to go get one for himself. Believe!!

Great Little Thing!!!

It cuts all of the noise but lets your sweet tone come through. Unlike the Boss model, this doesn't affect your tone. I think your tone actually sounds better. I don't have a pedal board. I only have my crybaby and then this. A true rocker's arsenal. Get this pedal!
