  • Good EQ Pedal

As reviewed by Pat on 1/29/2008

This is probably the best equalizer pedal on the market right now. With its sleek tribal graphics and light up bands, the MXR Kerry King EQ is no doubt the coolest looking EQ on the market. It has 10 bands of 12db cut or boost, ranging from 33.25hz to 16khz. This is a good range to shape your tone, which this stompbox does amazingly. If you thought your amps highs, mids and lows were good then you will be blown away by this. Another advantage is the dual outputs. Many touring guitarists have 2 amps or amp heads. With the Kerry King EQ Pedal, all you have to do to switch amps is turn one on and the other off! It's like a channel switcher also. This is a pedal for all genres, and not one to pass by. Plus, it's nearly bulletproof and comes with an 18-volt power supply. There is some competition, though. The Boss 8-band EQ pedal has 3 midrange bands, and goes up to 64khz instead of 16khz. Also, you can get the MXR normal 10-band EQ. It's basically the same thing without the graphic and second output.

  • Crunchy Goodness

As reviewed by The Chaz on 12/31/2008

I use the KFK for my rhythm when I am playing and it does it all. It tightens up my sound, gives a little boost in gain if I set it right, and gets rid of the muddiness. The first time I used it I was schocked. It's also built like a tank. I don't think that it will ever die.

  • Awsome EQ

As reviewed by Eric on 7/8/2008

I bought one of these to help clear up my clean tone, and a little bite to my distortion. Not only did it do that, it beefed it up a bit. Im still toying with it too!!! I use it mainly with my Jackson( with Duncan Sh-6's and a JB Jr.) and PRS (Allender stock) I actually had to turn the bass on my amp almost all the way down. It took care of my muddy stock sound. This is a sweet EQ. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to take a little more control of your tone. Next to my NS-2, this is probably the best investment I've made for my tone.
