Dunlop and Edward Van Halen have collaborated to bring back the classic tone of the MXR Flanger that powered timeless Van Halen tunes like "Unchained" and "And the Cradle Will Rock." The result of their effort is the MXR EVH 117 Flanger, a stompbox with the same bucket-brigade technology that provided the sweeping, whooshing magic of the original. This updated model comes with the EVH Switch, which instantly calls up Eddie's "Unchained" sound with the exact settings used to get the original guitar tone. On top of that, it comes painted with the cool striped graphics Eddie used to customize his guitars.

  • Great Product Once You Find a Use For It

    I own this pedal and haven't used it in a year or so. But when I did use it, it was a great pedal. It has great tone and the EVH button perfectly replicates the flanger tone in "Unchained." The only negative thing about this pedal is the fact that I never found a use for it. It also didn't include a power adaptor, so if you buy this remember to get a 18 volt adaptor or just use TWO 9 volt batteries.

  • VERY VERSATILE!

    I have been searching for the perfect flanger for a long time. My main beef with most flangers is the maintainting of a strong resonance of the flange while palm-muting. Digitech, Line-6, and even the Boss couldnt cut it. I went to guitar center to return my Boss BF-3 and the clerk recommended me the standard MXR flanger. It was perfect, excatly what i was looking for. Then i saw this bad baby and decided to choose it over the standard MXR. The great thing about this pedal, besides its overall sound is the EVH "Unchained" tone switch. If you like how it sounds, voila! you have two flange settings in one pedal. I have the tweakable settings for a stronger flange then in mid-show, i can switch to unchained instantly for a warmer, more subtle flange. And on top of everything, it's built like a tank and downright sexy! Expensive, but worth every penny!

    This is a dream come true for me. I have waited for a EVH style flanger for a LONG time. Sounds exactly like if Eddie was playing at a concert!
