Bang for the Buck

Comments about MXL V69XM Tube Condenser Mic:

Bought this mic for my home studio primarily for vocals and as a body mic for acoustic instruments. It is not a Neumann but it is also 1/4 the cost. Great accurate capture and a nice warm sound. This should be your main 30mm+ if you are on a budget! PROS: Cost, accurate, quiet gain from the tube (No 60hz hum like with other low cost tube mics) CONS: Not as linear as I would have expected, seems to capture more breath noise than it should.
