Great Mic! Great Price!

By Randall Flagg

Comments about MXL 909 Condenser Microphone:

Like all of MXLs products (I use several models), the 909 is no different. What more can I say except I would like to see them add something other than the molded plastic case. Why not a silver aluminum case such as the 991? Other than that, no complaints; that ain't half bad!

Low price, but make NO mistake; the MXL 909 competes with the big boys.

By Daniel Wright

from New York, NY

Comments about MXL 909 Condenser Microphone:

I purchased the MXL 909 after reading a passage in Voice Actors Guide to Recording at Home in which Harlan Hogan compared the 909 to the much more expensive and popular Sennheiser 416 shotgun mic for voice over work. Well, I can't say whether the MXL 909 is better or worse than any specific mic, but I can tell you that the 909 gives a pure, clear, honest and true interpretation of the voice or sound going into it. That really is all I can ask for from any mic of any price. My review of the MXL 909 would be glowing whether I spent $70 or $1000.

Great price, that is reflected in the sound

Comments about MXL 909 Condenser Microphone:

This is a solid, cost effective mic. To make this mic pop, one would need to use an exciter to bring out the hig/low end that sounds almost scooped. Right now I'm using a Pre-Amp and that's making this mic useful. Buy it if you want a mic built well and cheap.
