The MXL V63MBP Computer Desktop Recording Kit includes a large-diaphragm microphone with cable, adapters, and a desktop stand. It gives you an easy and inexpensive way to record into your computer. The MXL microphone included in the kit is battery powered rather than phantom powered, and it comes with the cable and adapters that allow it to plug directly into your PC as well as into mic preamplifiers, mixing consoles, or computer audio interfaces--any equipment using XLR, 1/4", or mini-plug connectors.     I have recently bought this mic, and it is probobly the best thing i have spent my money on. It works very good, and it plugs into the pc which is a plus, otherwise you would have to buy a whole nother thing around 100-250 i believe. It is very easy to hook up, its powered by a battery, and the sound is very clear. I would definitly recommend this mic. Its a very good starter mic.

    The microphone guzzles through its 9v power sources like and H2, and has a horrible frequency range. It cannot pick up my voice!

    Definitely a great mic for an artist on a budget, though, if you don't have a phantom power source, I wouldn't get this. Other wise it pairs perfect with a firewire solo and delivers great clear sound.
