High accuracy with vocal-flattering warmth!

The MXL 3000 has a large gold-sputtered diaphragm and an FET preamplifier with premium components within the signal path. It is a stunningly detailed microphone that is also appropriate for instrument miking, especially of string and wind instruments. It comes in a rugged aluminum flight case and includes microphone mount.

  • MXL 3000

The first condensor mic I bought is the MXL V63M. It seems to sound alright to me. Recommanded by a guitar center saleman, I decided to upgrade my MXL V63M. I started to try out many more of the expansive mic from different brand names but none seems to be able to bit my MXL V63M. I then started to do some reaserches online by reading many reviews on different other MXL mic. I found many good reviews on most MXL products, but 2 of which seem to captured my attention, the MXL 3000 and MXL 4000. Since I am only interested in vocal recording, I decided to pick the MXL 3000. It had to be ordered by Guitar Center. And, when I got the mic, I am impressed by its performance. It sounds similar to the MXL V63M, but definitely better and clearly more sensitive as the spec calls for. I now believe that all those MXL reviews are not exagerated at all.

  • Good but a bit expensive

I have a MXL 3000 mic and it is absolutely amazing, the large diaphragm captures acoustic instruments and vocal tracks amazingly well. I can get a nice full tone range with this mic. I ended up liking using the MXL 3000 mic for recording my wife?s concert grand harp and it did an excellent job. Have found this to do a much better job than the ribbon mics I have. If you want a high quality mic at a good price you should definitely consider a MXL 3000. I also found that the 3000 was excellent on acoustic guitars and violins and acoustic bass guitars. The mic is built well so if it is treated responsibly it should last a long time. The one thing that I found is that you must use a good mic pre with this mic in order to capture its true potential.
