  • cant believe it

As reviewed by Zach on 11/19/2009

alright here is my story, I went in guitar center I use to play bass for many years, I play guitar now, I look back in bass section and thought hmm haven't played one in a while. I go there plug into a fender jag with a peavy and was like this is cool, so I went to grab something else just seeing whats up, saw the humbucker and I thought I never played with a humbucker, so when I plugged it in it was like magic, instantly feel in love with this baby. honestly one of the best basses I have ever played. just felt so perfect in my lap, so smooth. like I was in heaven...

  • Something told me....

As reviewed by Etc. on 7/1/2009

Something told me not to touch it, because it was outside of my price range. i went into guitar center to buy, not to look. Now i'm in love with the untouchable woman of my dreams!! This guitar felt, reacted, responded, sounded and looked phenomenal!! I could not believe the pickups and the harmonics. HOT!! the weight, shape and playability was so freakin comfortable i have a new mission in life! Tones were not drowned out by it's thunder, but made up the thunder! Crisp cannot describe the articulation! this guitar is out of my league but only for the time being! WOW!

  • Great Import

As reviewed by Eric on 1/16/2010

I'll break it down in parts: Playability: Awesome! Fretboard was clean, frets well dressed and the zero fret is a nice touch. Construction: Well made, even if made with 2nd tier materials like basswood. Has good resonance and rests well on the lap. Nice neck/boby joint and reliable hardware. Sound: with the EQ set flat, this bass had a very sybillant treble, surprising in light of the massive humbucker. I had to roll off the treble 75% to get a decent tone. The bass and mid eqs are musical and give a lot of options when going for a "Jaco" tone or a more bottom heavy sound. All in all, I'd say this bass is much better than the Fender imports, the RockBasses from Warwick or the new Sterling line from Ball. I'm doing a second test drive with the MTD today at GC and I'll probably add it to the collection tonight!
