MONO Vertigo Bass Guitar Case (H90687)
Availability:

Smart case design.

There are three major components of the MONO bass case that distinguish it from other gig bags: the headlock, the boot and the top-loading feature. The idea for a new case design was born of the ages old scenario of grabbing the guitar out of the side of a partially unzipped case while standing up. We do this to save space, to save time, or to save our backs. It is the guitar gig bag equivalent of the apple falling on Newton’s head.

This observation became the driving concept behind the Vertigo™, the world's first top-loading guitar case. The top-loading feature might have been enough, but MONO also redesigned the Headlock™ for automatic neck support. Then they created The Boot™, a rubber sole designed for unsurpassed protection against vertical drops.

HEADLOCK™
The Vertigo™ features a fully redesigned Headlock™ neck suspension system. No strapping, buckling, or belting required. No extra steps. Just throw your bass in and the neck finds a natural resting point in the base of the Headlock™. Then zip the case up and the top section of the Headlock™ automatically clamps down over your bass, holding it firmly in place. Your headstock is now fully protected against backward drops and side-to-side impact. Lightning fast!

THE BOOT™
Another first of its kind, The Boot™ takes guitar protection to a new level. Using manufacturing technologies from the footwear industry, the Vertigo™ bounces off of concrete like a pair of cross trainers. With its custom molded rubber outsole and EVA insole, The Boot™ also protects strap pins of all shapes and sizes from those nasty vertical drops. Travel in confidence and style. It's a good look.
TOP-LOADING
A slick feature that you will come to love. The Vertigo™ does not open like a traditional guitar case. Its design allows you to quickly unzip the case and pull your bass out from the top. A hidden diagonal hinge on the front panel of the case enables this. Once unzipped, the case naturally opens out and to the right. No need to lay your guitar case down on the floor.

The Vertigo™ is appointed with smart storage and rugged hardware for a life of travel. A deep front pocket keeps your essentials at-hand. The optional Guitar Tick™ provides room for much more. Steel riveted handles and dual zippers come standard, as does the Sharkskin™ water resistant outer shell.

Fits all standard electric bass guitars including Fender, Ibanez, Fodera, Warwick, Tobias, Yamaha. Also fits some not-so-standard bass guitars. This product is covered under MONO’s 3 year limited liability warranty.

MONO Vertigo Bass Guitar Case Features:

  • Top-loading

  • Great case!

As reviewed by Jeff on 8/19/2014

I was a need of cases for my Pedulla Buzz Fretless and my MTD Kingston CRB basses. I've purchased "decent" gig bags in the past; you get what you pay for. The neck support, shock absorption bottom and the "Vertigo" top load/unload is great. Worth the price; I see them lasting decades!

  • A case to end all cases.

As reviewed by KENNER on 5/23/2014

As a "shop-a-holic", I've come to fruition that "you do pay what you should get". I've had countless replacements on a lot of road runner gig bags, due to the "not-so-sturdiness" of the straps. I commute to gigs via bus, train, etc. This bag is the sum of all travelings, problematic and resolving. Worry not of the price, but nothing at all. It's a case to end all cases. Cheers.

  • Best case for the light traveller

As reviewed by darryl siruno on 1/10/2014

Compared to the Mono M80, I love the fact that this bass case is very basic. Just rest it at the side of your amplifier or against a wall, unzip it, and grab your bass. Forget about laying your case flat on the floor and stooping down low to open it and pick up your bass. This is specially convenient if you're playing in small venues. Again, it is as tough as it gets (nice durable padding and water proof outer surface material). The new headlock in my opinion is more stable and time saving than the neck strap in the M80. It doesn't have enough room or space for other stuff though which I believe is still good and serves its true design: compact and basic. I like how they added the boot at the bottom. You can just drop your case from your shoulder and it wouldn't hurt your precious gear. One of the best feature to me though is the anti-slip zipper. I can check this in when travelling by plane and not worry the case will be opened (provided I use padlocks on the zipper heads) since most travelling/gig bags have zippers that can be opened using a ball-tip pen or any sharp object. Yes, even with padlocks (by piercing through the closed zipper, they can easily open your bag and take what's in it then close it back). I highly recommend this case more than the M80 if you want to travel light, with less stuff, and security for your lifetime investment.
